Anything to do in Bangor, ME. The gf and I are headed down there for a few days for some shopping. Wondering if anything worthwhile to see/do there or is it Deathtown.

Bangor, ME.

Sounds like Stephen King country.

If I am not mistaken there are bound to be some pretty sweet Stephen King centric bookstores in the vicinity.

Oh yeah, and you might just run into Stephen King- I hear Bangor isn't so big ;)

it's like most small cities, with your standard things to do and plenty of shopping and such.

it is only about an hour from class V whitewater rafting that rocks (threeriverswhitewater.com) or you could get on route 1 and travel the shoreline which is gorgeous, many cutesy small towns to check out (camden, rockport, etc....) lots of lighthouses, and things of that nature.

Think Steven King would let us in for a tour of his house. Looks pretty sharp.

If you're talking about the Kennebec/Dead/Penobscot (which I think is where three rivers is, I'm too lazy to goto the site) it's going to be a cold trip... I go up there every year (I have a friend who works for Moxie rafting) at theend of August, it's usually right on the edge of too cold at that point.

More like two hours south, but it is a straight run down 95.
