DVD Talk review of 'Midsomer Murders Set 9'
I was under the impression these episodes were not being released chronologically so I've avoided them. Is the a way to watch them in order either in region or region 2?

I don't know about the very first releases (I've only reviewed the last two sets, and I've caught earlier episodes in random order), but the two sets I've reviewed are in chronological order of original U.K. airing.
But as I said in my review, you can still enjoy these stand-alone; minor plot points carry over, but they're in no way deal breakers in enjoying these clever, funny murder mysteries.

As Mr. Mavis (great review Paul & I’m glad someone else loves Midsomer Murders as much as I do) said, the last 2 DVD releases of Midsomer Murders (Set 7 & 8 have been in chronological order. I own all of the R1 DVD releases of Midsomer Murders the only real major jump is that the first set (Set One) doesn’t include any of the first series episodes & Set Five is the set that includes all of the series 1 episodes of Midsomer Murders.
Anyways, like Paul Mavis said, the series doesn’t really have any major plots that carry over into other episodes. The only thing I noticed was that in some of the earlier Sets, Barnaby was living in his new house in one episode & in the next episode he was just buying it & painting it. Nothing major & all the episodes are ‘stand-alone’ basically.
I would highly recommend too anyone who enjoys the ‘English-Mystery’ genre to pick up all of the Midsomer Murders DVD sets.
