Braveheart: Special Collector's Edition -- 12/18/2007

Saw this posted on DVDempire with UPC #097361313948 -- The street date is 12/18/2007. Probably will be a 2-disc set. I am glad this is finally on it's way!

what's paramount going to add to this double dip ??

it already has a commentary !

(NB - it was regarded as a 'special edition' in other regions - like here in Australia . The 2nd disc measly contained the only added '30min' featurette "A Filmmaker's Passion" (gee - he likes that 'passion' word!))

What you mean by crap? This is one one of the big anticipated release by many of us. Hopefully they release it with remastered transfer and hopefully in high definition. If iti doesn't come out in High Defiinition, its still a must buy for me because I've been waiting for a rerelease.

I'll get it. This might even be a christmas gift. It's about time they got the SE out. Or rumored to be out.

'cause its a crap film - along the same lines of Titanic - just make it 3hrs and people will go WHOA an epic !!!

I can't see too many people interested in a double dip of this - unless its cheap. Paramount is busy trying to double dip on anything and everything - like the recent Cheeck and Chong's Up In Smoke DVD. Add a featurette or two - and whoolah...... a new version ! I would have thought that Paramount had a stack of money - considering they've sold out soley to HDDVD.

(and why does every release or re-release comment need to have a 'hope that there's a HD version ?? It's almost a given that someone will ask this !)

I'll be happy to just get an anamorphic release of this film. That'll be worth the double dip alone.

Huh? The first version was anamorphic.

They announced the SE of this years ago and nothing ever came to fruition so I finally caved and I bought the original version a few weeks ago. Oh well, time to upgrade.

Are you sure? I remember how horrible the transfer was to begin with... and that I also had to "zoom" in. Hmmm, might have to pop this in again to make sure.

I seem to remember the original commentary wasn't all that good....maybe a new one would be in order. Mel would probably do it better with a moderator....or was there one with him the first time?

Jeeez. I can't remember.

I think the FREEEEEEDDDDOOOOMMMM EDITION would be perfect.....

Yeah, there were lots of silences where it appears that Mel is just watching the movie.

The Battle of Stirling Bridge deserves the best sound possible. The cavalry charge could shatter windows!

He didn't mean that the film was crap. He is voicing his sentiments on the fact that this will be YET ANOTHER double-dip he'll have to make. In other words, see his post this way:

"Dang, I gotta double-dip on this one too!"

crap -- this is a film I will have no problem double-dipping on. Still, I feel his pain!
