Weeds Season One $10 at Target (YMMV)
A friend of mine told me that Weeds season one was marked as $19.99 at Target but it rang up as $9.99. This is probably YMMV but maybe other people will be able to take advantage of it.

Season 2 is OAR. I still haven't been able to justify buying this one. I've seen it for very very low, and the fact that it's MAR just bothers me to death.
I think I'll just get seasons 1 and 2 on Blu-Ray sometime in the next year or so.

I didn't notice anything unusual with the transfer it so maybe it was shot in 16:9 with everything important framed within the 4:3 area, like many shows aired in HD. Either way, its not cool that the SD-DVD isn't 16:9.
I bought season 1 last year, but I didn't find out it was supposed to be in WS until I read a review of the Blu-ray.

^ in the first episode, when nancy and celia are watching the soccer game, one of them is basically cut in half (i forget who) out of the frame. i'm sure there are other examples also but i remember right when i first watched the show, i noticed that immediately. so i think it was actually framed for 16x9, meant to be shown in widescreen. why they decided not to release it that way, i have no idea.

If you have a Region-free player, I believe the R2 release of Weeds Season 1 is in widescreen.

You probably did end up seeing it. My only knowledge was based on the ever-changing amazon.co.uk release date. I would have considered re-ordering it, but now I'm just planning on a high-def release sometime soon.
