Anyone been?

I went once last year, and it was decent. I'm going Sun-Wed, and I'm looking for any suggestions about: Food, unique games, comps, etc. I'm hoping to find some relatively cheap table limits because it is during the week, though I'm not sure what to expect. I was there during a very large conference last year, so their table limits were pretty high.

What food is around that is worth getting? I know food closer to the French Quarter, but not around the Casino (outside of the Riverside brunch). There isn't a whole lot around it, anything in the casino worth getting?

I was there last year. Since it is the only casino in/near the Fr. Qtr., table minimums were high. $25 on a weekend night.

Craps kicked my ass, I think I lost $600 on the craps tables in a couple hours, I was up and down at roulette...ended up down $100, and BJ I was up $450+ or so. Net <-$300, so not horrible. With higher limits you just need to ride it out. They have $15/$25 craps tables, and I saw a $10 pop up late on sunday night, hopefully it will stick around for mon/tues. Roulette was $15 min, with 1 table at $10, but it was always packed. BJ was mostly $20/$25/$50, with a $15 or two. My typical play starts at $25/$35 anyway, so I didn't much care. My dealer subtly tipped me off a bunch of times, and I hooked him up all night....he probably saved/made me at least $100-$150.

The room is nice (free is good too ;) ), I ate at Gordon Beirsch out of pure laziness, and the burger was decent (it had to be medium...blah!), but the garlic fries were awesome. Drunk and lazy = restaurant in between the hotel area and casino floor. I had some great gumbo while out.

I'm going out to go shoot photography for the day, stop at some hole in the wall places I found the last time I was here, then more gambling. I'm going to stick with BJ and see if I can get back in the black.

how did he do that?

I am assuming that Peda was not playing by "the book" and the dealer was saying not to hit or to hit in certain situations.

I have been to this casino, not bad actually, stayed across the street. Easy walk to the 'quarter'.

No. I played everything by the book, but he had some very subtle tells of when he'd have something he had to hit. He'd ask if I want to hit, and then he'd move his head just a bit while looking at my cards, other times his inflection was a bit off or his pacing was a bit different. At first I thought it was random, but I started tracking when he did this and saw a pattern. I would tip him randomly,
and it all worked out.
