Flashdance: Collector's Edition DVD
I found this earlier today at the-place-that-shant-be-named (they broke street date, hahaha) and picked it up. This is definately a "bad" movie but as a kid of the 1980's, there are a lot of sentimental childhood memories attached to it that it's nice to see a better DVD release of it. Anyone else out there getting this?
I am surprised Beals did not participate in any of the documentaries, has The L Word really made her that big of a star? (On the contrary, Kevin Bacon participated and even did commentary on Flashdance's brother film "Footloose", I say brother because both movies were hugely successful "MTV" movies in the early 80's with mega-successful soundtracks, and I'd argue that Bacon is a bigger star than Beals).
There is also a six track CD that contains the biggest hits from the soundtrack, which is nice for those who still own the album on vinyl or cassette and never bothered to make the upgrade, all the songs you love are on this disc anyways.
One minor complaint that could've been arranged since it's Paramount-owned is that "Flashbeagle" should've been a bonus feature, they've never released that Peanuts special on DVD and Flashdance would've been a great place to reissue the special on.
