1,312 unaired episodes since 99
http://www.thefutoncritic.com/rant.aspx?id=20070912
The futon critic has been doing a countdown to the new season with some interesting facts about past seasons. Today's was the first one I found really interesting. I liked looking through that list of all those cancelled shows. I was most surprised when I got to the block of Dead Last, Eyes, and Joey with 8 unaired episodes. That's a lot of unaired episodes for some quality shows. I especially loved Dead Last. Everytime I watch Medium or Ghost Whisperer, I mourn the loss of Dead Last.
I wonder how accurate those counts are though. I know some of the shows on the second list should be on the third list. For instance Freaks and Geeks aired their unaired episodes on Family Channel. Also, I think it'd be impossible for The Reality Show to have unaired episodes since each week was determined by viewer voting. I know a few episodes aired on mtv.com, but I don't even know if they finished the thing at all.

Do pilots that don't get picked up count?
I'm still upset that NBC chose not to burn off the 6 unaired episodes of E-Ring from 2 years ago.

And Miss Match.
I was glad that CBS gave VH1 the unaired episodes of Love Monkey.
Does passing them off to cable count?
And then there all those shows that burned off episodes on the net but I never got around to watching: Smith, Kidnapped, Vanished, Day Break, etc.

I just hope that when this electronic distribution thing gets cooking, we get at least digital distribution of a lot of this stuff I care about. I'd love to see any remaining episodes of Line of Fire, The Inside, Miracles, Eyes, Drive, and a bunch of others.

Wow. I think I've only even heard of a handful of those shows.
And I forgot Emeril had a show once, long, long ago.

In terms of unaired episodes, I wonder if "The Ni9e" will get wrapped up on Tim Daly's new Grey's Anatomy spin-off. Maybe we'll finally find out what his deal is.
Hey, it could happen.

I hated how NBC handled Kidnapped. They only put 1 episode at a time online and once a new episode was posted, the previous one was promptly removed. I didn't even bother watching it online and purchased the entire series for 30 bucks at Walmart.
You didn't miss much with Vanished. I watched all the remaining episodes on myspace and the story was incomplete.
Day Break was awesome, but a little confusing at times. All 13 episodes are still on ABC.com as of right now. With the new fall season approaching, I don't think you will have time to watch them.....don't know how long they are going to be there.

The war actually killed the show. For several weeks, news cut ins about the war butchered the show and ABC never bothered to rerun episodes that were completely pre-empted by news coverage.
