Twister (Two-Disc Special Edition) 2008

http://www.dvdactive.com/news/releases/twister.html

I love this movie, and may have to double dip. Check out the spelling error on the cover.

Well it's about time this gets a good release. I've been avoiding that old snapper release for years.

Can’t wait too “Breath”.

Anyway, I’ll be picking up the two disc ‘special edition’ of Twister whenever it’s release is in 08’.

I don't own it on DVD yet.

Cool. Did anyone ever buy that Twister Collector's Set that was out in '00-'01? It came with pictures from the movie and a couple other items.

recently watched some of the film on cable and realized this was a pretty dumb film, but it's one saving grace was the special effects and aggressive soundmix. I'll buy the HD-DVD edition.

I have the original release and I'm not sure if Twister is a movie I care enough about to upgrade. Honestly, the only thing even making me consider it would be to get rid of the dreaded snapper. Maybe a DTS track could sway me, but I don't see that happening.

I hope they give us Dolby 5.1 EX and DTS 6.1 ES, that would totally rock.

And yes, an HD release would be pretty sweet.

This was the movie that got me into home theater. I remember watching it opening night and the movie was so damn loud I almost couldn't take it. It was great

Looking back, it's a silly popcorn movie, but I can't wait for the HD-DVD.

I'll be sure not to breath either

I wonder if there will be more deleted scenes? I have the SE and there were some on that one.

I bet this new one will have actual tornado docs on it - stuff you can see on the Discovery or History channel anytime.

No new deleted scenes - no sale for me.

That would sell me. I don't have it yet so it would be worth it with some reality-based extras.

Me too. I'm sold regardless, but I'd love to see some documentaries about actual tornadoes and tornado research.

I haven't picked it up because I was expecting this, I'll grab it at some point when the price is right.

That being said, this will be a triple dip for me.

No, it's not a great movie but as a Kansas native, I love the music, scenery and theme.

Love the movie, but never picked up the snapper, and don't think I expected a re-release any better than that one. So I was quite excited when I saw the news at DVDActive. I'm in, definitely.

While it's no masterpiece of cinema, it holds up as a truly great rocking film that works. So this 2-disc set is long overdue and well deserved. I own the snapper release, purchased it years ago. I will probably be double-dipping. They have to fix the "Don't breath" spelling mistake on the cover before any are pressed though.

WOW! You're right geicos27, guess the majority of people don't notice any difference between breath and breathe. HA! I would imagine that by the time it's actually released that SOMEBODY will bring that error to their attention and that it will be corrected!!!
