Just got back from FYE and they have season one on sale for $16.99. There were 4 or 5 copies stuck in the regular TV section, no sign or anything. But they did have sale stickers on them.

Very underrated series by the way, well written and excellent acting.

I've lost my confidence in their rebates. I submitted 9 rebates during their May sale and they can't find 4 of them. After 2 months of phone calls, emails and faxes I'm getting nowhere, they're just giving me the runaround.

FYI, there are 2 versions of Friday Night Lights. One complete series, and another one with 2 volumes, part 1 and part 2. Walmart's version is part 1 and 2, so don't be deceived by the prices for Walmart as it pertains to half a season only. Walmart's price for the series here is $10.99 ea.

Remember hearing about this when the dvd was announced, but hadn't seen actual copies anywhere. Didnt they do this with 30 Rock as well? Release part one and part 2 seperately?

Thats a great price, I don't feel too bad since I got it at Sams Club for $18.

I stopped in at FYE today (actually yesterday...Monday) & FNL was $25.49. I asked about the $16.99 price but nobody knew anything about it. Might still try to order online, but I have also found the rebates to be relatively hit-or-miss.

Yes they did. They are around $20 a volume. Vol.1 has 2 discs and Vol.2 has 1.

I think the sale price of $16.99 was a mistake. I work at FYE, and we haven't gotten any sale pricing for Friday Night Lights at $16.99. It WAS on sale for $19.99 when it was released, but I think that that sale has ended by now.

Dang! That woulda been a good price to combine with the MIR. Anyway, thanks for clarification.

The $16.99 price point was at select stores that had a flyer insert sale (in the paper) and lasted only Tuesday and Wednesday of the release week. If you got it after that then congrats to you :)
