Timeshift Demo-Impressive
I know Bioshock along with COD4 Beta the up coming Halo 3, Assassin's Creed and mass Effect has dominated the games but after playing the Timeshift demo I wouldn't discount it one bit. I can understand how it had a Gears feel when it was first shown earlier this year. They were impressed with with the visuals as wel and it shows. No shortage on detail as it's everywhere. In fact just a bit more than Gears I think. It makes RS:Vegas look like a PS2 game. The "Timeshift" function-stop, slow and reverse- is something to see and play with. If you liked chainsawing in Gears sorry but you do have a Crossbow that shoots exploding arrows that takes bodies apart. It's really cool in "slo-mo". They're saying up to (14) MP with several modes and I could see this be pretty fun. Good demo to play.

I mentioned this in the one-and-only thread. It's got gorgeous graphics, but the timeshifting was the only thing that elevated it from "Ho hum, another FPS" to "This is worth a look." So for me, a lot will depend on how well they integrate the timeshifting into the game.
I also thought the game could do a better job of explaining what your objectives are and how to achieve them. There were a couple of points in the demo where it wasn't clear to me where I was supposed to go.

I just played through the demo and was very impressed. This definitely looks like an AAA game. While it's pretty much a cliche now, I never get tired of slowing down time and blowing guys away. It was like Equilibrium meets awesome!!

So far my favorite is when you're making your way thru the trench right before you meet the "friendly" in the tunnel opening there is a bad guy on a clift that jumps down. I freeze him in mid-air, walk underneath him and let him have with either a grenade (tag) or crossbow. The "Timeshift" is pretty impressive. The first time I did the slo-mo in the rain I said "Matrix". The "Reverse Time" is mind-boggling as you're moving forward while everything around is in reverse. I've played the demo ten times and still not tired of it.

Other than that, I guess I'm the only one here that hated the demo.

I still liked the demo and the effects were just cool as hell especially stop and slow time. I did see a commercial of the game on TV and it had allot more than the demo or at least I thought so. XBL has a review up now - 7.9

This is a very good game that's going to get buried by all the competition this winter. Which is too bad, because you can tell they put a lot of work and good ideas into it to keep it from being just another average FPS. If anything, it reminds me of Half Life 2. I don't know if it was ready, but they really should've released it earlier during the summer, it would've gotten the attention it deserves. The multi-player's pretty good too.
