You can check out their website to find a store near you:

http://www.halfpricebooks.com/

The store near me has a large selection of used DVDs and there's usually some deals to be found when they have their 20% sales.

i went this morning and got the indiana jones trilogy for $20 and cabin boy for like $2. Not sure if those are great deals, but I snatched them up.

Sign up for the mailing list, too. I think they're having another of their progressive coupon sales around 9/20-24.

They also occasionally send $5 off $20 or more coupons. I've got two I'm going to use during this 20% sale this weekend. HPB is a great place to hunt Criterion DVDs, also.

They seem to have marked up the DVD prices to go with the sale. I ended up finding Sopranos Season 3 which I needed for under $28 with the discount. I didn't find much I was looking for. The slapped $29.99 stickers on a ton of box sets including many like Punkd that sell for $20 new. Weird pricing all around.

I've found the prices for dvd's there have been really crappy for the last couple years. I used to be able to find deals there, but they are few and far between now.

Most of the locations I've been to have quite a bit of remaindered/OOP titles (Todd Haynes' Safe, Visconti's Death in Venice in a snapper, etc.) for around $9 each, sealed,YMMV as always.

I picked up the Undeclared box set for about $20, and lots of dollar bin cd's. But then again, most of the stuff I pick up whenever I shop there is mostly in the clearance section, so it was nice to get a few bucks taken off the top.

Since everything in the store is used/remaindered, you never know what will be there.

And sometimes the 'half off' price is half off the MSRP $30 official dvd price, so a used DVD would be $15 - this is usually just on the big new titles like Superman Returns.

I have found cool deals there, but it is definitely YMMV.

Here is a $5 off $25 coupon. - It probably will NOT combine with the 20% off sale going on this weekend, but it is good till 9/30, and you should bookmark the website, because sometimes they'll update the coupon to make it good longer.

Well I'm 2 hours away from Dallas, and that's where all the HPB stores are. Thanks for the info. Sounds like a lousy sale.
