Movies that would've made better TV shows

Inspired by Buffy which really isn't anything like the movie. Shallow Hal happened to be on FX not too long ago and I was thinking how much better of a TV show it would've made than a movie. Not a straight on sitcom but more of an "Ed" or "Boston Legal" type show where its really comedic to have this somewhat shallow guy dating beautiful women but its more about him trying to find the right woman and dealing with their imperfections. I would throw out the ability to see into someone's inner soul part though.

Knocked Up.

It was a great movie, but the secondary characters would be so much more vivid and get more screen time on a show. Plus that 9 month period went by awfully quickly in the movie.

The Harry Potter movies wouldn't be so.. rushed.. if it could've been a mini-series.

Bingo! We have a winner here! I alway pictured really rad animated adult version that was like hour eps for a full season. A combo of Grandpre's artwork with mix of realistic iconic animation would really be hot.

I don't know if it would be better, but Sin City would make for a cool show, or mini-series.

Ghost in the Shell: Solid State Soceity.

I think that was everyone's problem with it (well, that's into GITS SAC to begin with) including me.

I think the style of Monster House, with Grandpre's touch, would be perfect.

If they ever re-adapted Harry Potter for TV (1 book = 1 season), it would be the highest rated show this side of MASH.

They would have to add material for at least the first 2 books. I recently listened to the unabridged audio books of them and it is amazing how little was left out. Add maybe 1/2 hour to Sourcer's Stone and 1/2-3/4 hour to Chamber and nothing would be left out.

Judge Dredd, the LOTR trilogy and Starga- oops, they already did that about a decade ago.

really Judge Dredd I have yet to have finished that movie and it been more than a decade since it was released. If you want a Stallon vehical that may have made an entertaining show Tango & Cash I could see as a show.

True Lies - Not with Arnold but a family of spys would be a decent action/comedy series. Draw out the wife finding out for most of the 1st season.

As much as I enjoy watching it, there were times in Gangs of New York when I wished Scorsese had cut out some of the DiCaprio-Diaz love story and replaced it instead with the inner workings of 1800's New York as well as more details on the various gangs roaming around the city, as those were my favorite parts of the movie. It could really stand to expanded into a miniseries.

Schindler’s List would have made a brilliant TV series. I thought the movie was absolutely incredible but it would have made a great HBO/Showtime series that’s for sure. It wouldn’t make a good network television series.

Titanic would be a decent television series but It might be a little to slow moving. I think it is good as a film. I mean I don’t want to be spending 5 episodes watching the damn boat sink.

All of Martin Scorsese’s films would make excellent TV series because all of his films in my opinion are just plain out brilliant. There is no better creator of films than Mr. Scorsese.

I think The Departed would have made a good HBO/Showtime series & Taxi Driver, which is possibly my all-time favorite film, would make a great television series. Casino would just be awesome as a TV show.
