Star Trek: New Voyages (fanfilm)

The newest episode "World Enough and Time" guest-starring George Takei and Grace Lee Whitney is now available.

The next episode will be a two-parter with Denise Crosby (and a cameo from Phil "Amazing Race" Keoghan).

I think that's the next one and, if so, they just finished filming in June. With editing and post-production....see you next summer.

Have you seen Star Trek: Hidden Frontier? I think both that and the upcoming sequel series, Star Trek: Odyssey might tide you over. There's, I think, 3-4 gay characters there. Two of which were regulars.

The first several seasons are mighty rough, but they do get better towards the end.

Actually, yes, I have seen some of it, and it's generally pretty interesting stuff. It's sad that some of this fan video stuff is better than the last couple of Trek series.

Also, I don't mean to turn this into a "gay Trek" thread, but in looking for information on these series I was reminded that the stated reason for no gay characters on Star Trek was that they couldn't figure out a way to bring it up because homosexuality is not an issue in the Federation.

Nothing screams adventure like Wrath-era federation red uniforms! Especially when you can unbuckle the front and get it all sweaty and bloody!

Each episode improves in production and story quality, this one was no exception. Unfortunately, the acting and direction still seem pretty static (as in: needs work!). On the plus side, the guest actress was quite good. I would say this is easily the closest they've come to feeling like a true TOS episode.

Spoiler:
At first, I couldn't understand the purpose of the Captain Sulu scene at the beginning, they could've just set the entire episode in the TOS era. But, the final scene with Sulu and Demora made the whole episode for me and certainly explained away that issue.

Apparently, I hit the site just right to download the episode. Their server must of crashed, you can't even pull up the site right now. And my pic is gone in the first post!

That was not a gay kiss. It was two people that used to have a heterosexual relationship kissing.

And where were these gay people?

Well, Tracer, my guess was off by 6 months.

"Blood and Fire" Part 1 is available now.

Some comments/observations:

1) to the quickly added dediction to Majel
2) Hidden Frontier may have lower production values, but the acting sure is better (ie "less over-the-top") over there.
3) This episode is from a script David Gerrold pitched to Next Generation 20 years ago. He wrote the script and directed.
4) Amazing Act 3 cameo
5) I'm disappointed the guest star I was expecting doesn't appear until Part 2.

Re: Star Trek: New Voyages (fanfilm)

watching it now

TOS era miranda class rules

too bad the only version of the files I could find are mp4
is it my system or do they take forever to open for everyone?

peter needs a hair cut
they have a decent sulu actor, why not use him more
and those jumpsuit things are lame as hell

LOL at McCoy's line about not putting bulls eyes on redshirts anymore

intersting, scotty in a movie area engineering radiation suit
and a drawing of the NX-01 in the briefing room

and new spock's chipmunk cheeks are annoying

ok I'm confused. Phlox kept regulan bloodworms in sickbay to treat people
but now they're so dangerous that starfleet as a standing procedure to destroy a ship with all hands to get rid of them?
