I highly recommend Die Leben der Anderen (The Lives of Others)

This may become one of the best movies and is very easily my favorite movie I saw theatrically this year. It's a political thriller that works on a very personal level, and it has one of the tightest scripts I've seen on screen in a long time. It is worth at least a rental but I would not hesitate recommending a blind buy, even if you're not so hot on foreign cinema.

I've also been hearing a lot of good buzz about this movie. I am picking it up on Tuesday as well.

I think this will be my third 'sub-titled' purchase in three months.

I'm fine with the cover-art. An improvement over the theatrical poster to be sure.

I'm sure Poland got a really cool poster. For some reason Polish one sheets put everything else to shame.

Just viewed it.

Personally, glad I rented it instead of buying it (felt same way about "Fracture" actually).

It's not a movie I think I would watch twice or have friends over to watch it. If I grew up in that part of Germany, I might feel differently.
