Recommendation wanted: "Indiana Jones" Style Movies

Ok, so I really enjoy the Indiana Jones movies and have also enjoyed movies with the same feel like The Mummy, Sahara, Stargate (sort of similar) and even The Librarian.

What are some other similar movies to these? I know Jones' is based off earlier serials, are there any of those that are stand outs?

I suppose Tomb Raider is probably one.

Edit: I guess I found a good list here: http://www.theraider.net/information...ces/legacy.php

So building off that list could help. Now I want Tales of the Gold Monkey to hit DVD!

I instantly thought of Allan Quatermain and Lost City of Gold which is probably a remake of Allan Quartermain. Try Romancing the Stone and Jewel of the Nile. Or Golden Child, Time Bandits, Big Trouble in Little China, Jumanji, Mighty Joe Young...

Are those Allan Quatermain movies good? I mean, I liked the librarian, so I suppose my standards aren't to high, but they looked pretty terrible.

Way back when, I saw King Solomon's Mines which is one of the Quartermain movies. It wasn't Raiders but it was OK.

I've enjoyed the Quartermain movies, although I haven't seen them in many years. Definitely worth a rental, at least.

The Phantom - It's got mystical artifacts, & jungles, & ...a guy in a big purple suit. & the same writer as Last Crusade.

Gunga Din - if you like Temple of Doom, this is a must.

The Wind & The Lion - just saw part of this last night for the first time. Surprisingly fun. It's like an Indiana Jones movie without Indiana Jones. Brian Keith as Teddy Roosevelt, Sean Connery looking not unlike the swordsman shot in Raiders, & Candice Bergen as the feisty broad.

There are a couple of Jackie Chan movies that have an Indy flavor. In the US, they're called Operation Condor 1 & 2. In Hong Kong, they're called Armour of God 1 & 2.

I haven't seen those Richard Chamberlain / Allan Quartermain movies since I was a kid, but even then I thought they were cheap & lame...

Those Allan Quartermain movies with Richard Chamberlain from what I remember were really really low budget......the infamous Cannon Films made them. I remember King Solomons was entertaining, but the sequel not so much.

Another Cannon movie that has a "Indy Jones" feel was Firewalker with Chuck Norris and Louis Gossett Jr.

Sahara...

I like 'SAHARA' with Matthew McConaughey and Penelope Cruz. I do not think it is as well done as the Indiana movies but it was entertaining.
