I recently got a promo disc at work that had the first two episodes of this season. I couldn't resist waiting so I watched them both. As expected, the show is off to a great start. The only downside (for tonight's viewers) is that it's a two-part episode, so you really should watch them back-to-back. Not that I expect any of you to be able to save this to your DVR's for a week, but it'll drive you nuts. From one cliffhanger to another.

I don't mind cliffhangers so much if they were, say, at the end of a scene. But to hang right in the middle of a scene, and to end a season on it and have to wait a full year... it's the kind of bullshit that leads people to torrent. Not saying I do that sort of thing...[ahem] but I understand why someone would, because after that cliffhanger, the viewer feels kinda ripped off.

Kevin Nealon is quickly becoming the most quotable guy on pay cable.
Sorry, Piven.
So glad to see this show back with new episodes. That final scene with the swimming pool nearly had me in tears. Celia is such a bitch.
I heard 10 episodes for this season. Has that been confirmed?

That was.. lame. I waited after watching season 2 on DVD and didn't download them, and Queen MILF was in the same spot as the season finale. Sure, a few things happened, but not much was resolved.
So where's her husband?

'Weeds' Produces New High
'Californication' harshes some of that buzz, but still opens solid
Showtime's Emmy nominated "Weeds" drew a record number of viewers for its Monday (Aug. 13) premiere.
In addition to improving by 43 percent over its second season premiere, the "Weeds" launch also helped give a boost to David Duchovny's new comedy "Californication."
According to media reports, the third season of "Weeds" drew an estimated 824,000 viewers, its largest first-play audience ever, up from the 626,000 who tuned in to watch Mary-Louise Parker start her second season as drug-pushing suburban mom Nancy Botwin.
Although a large number of those viewers seemingly got the munchies and left their TVs, "Californication" still held onto 550,000 viewers, as per Nielsen Media Research.
Premium cable network Showtime is always reticent to provide viewership figures for first run series airings, but the "Californication" launch was larger, for example, than the first season premiere of "Weeds" (488,000) but smaller than last year's roll-out for "Dexter" (603,000). Showtime's "The Tudors," which rolled out to much pomp and circumstance, drew 870,000 for its first showing.
"Weeds" earned a slew of Emmy nominations this year, including nods for stars Parker and Elizabeth Perkins.

The cell phone ring tones in this episode had me .
In the scene with Nancy trying to tell Silas that she needs the herb or she will be killed, when Silas says "Can't your husband help you out of this?," the look on Nancy's face as she realizes just how real the situation she's in is.. that's good acting.

Just started watching this show as Comcast put the whole series for free OnDemand for the next year. I am up to Season 3 and the show is better then I thought it would be. I liked Season 1, but kinda didn't know where the show was going, and I thought Season 2 really picked up and I just started Season 3 and the just really hit its stride. I enjoy the show cause you never know where its heading and it always keeps you guessing, and the characters are all very funny too.
