I loved the original, so why hasn't it been made for online play with of course up to date graphics. Seems like a no brainer.

It's called "Destruction Derby: Arenas" for PS2...

Wasn't there an N64 sequel as well?

I loved that first game. One of the earliest titles I remember linking. Good times. I'd be down for a proper-well made sequel. Question is, would it make it in a time where Burnout rules?

I remember playing a 4-player Demolition Derby arcade game back in the mid-80s. This was probably shortly after Gauntlet was released and 4-play became really popular. Anyone remember that one?

I own the original Bally/Midway Demolition Derby arcade game in both the 2 player upright and 4 player table top models. It's the best demo derby game ever.

Personally, I think the Destruction Derby games were all crap. For a decent Demo Derby game, check out Test Drive: Eve of Destruction. No online play, but a solid demo derby game.

Hopefully the genre will be reinvented, however, with my Doritos Unlock Xbox entry:

Flatout sucks. I unfortunately bought both the first two.

I got Demolition Derby for the PC in the late 90's. Man that game sucked. I mean, I wanted it to be fun, but it didn't compare to something like Twisted Metal.

Racing games don't do well on PC, it seems.

I remember Demolition Derby on the PS. Talk about a suckass cheap game. The race started and every single bastard controlled by the CPU came after you and you alone immediately. They geared towards the player and took no notice of each other until you were gone, which, for me only ever lasted at most like 1 - 2 minutes.

Uhmm... that was one of the game modes where that is what they were supposed to do.

The other modes were fine and they did go after each other.

Hmm, maybe I was only playing a demo then.
