Rock Band - $60 (allegedly w/ guitar/drums/mic)

Posted by Doc005BestBuy.com has put up pre-order listings for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Rock Band. That doesn't sound like a big deal until you hear about the price each version is listed at: $59.99. That's a lot less than the $300 Gamestop estimate that was getting thrown around a while back.

We know what you're thinking: This deal is probably just for the game disc, without the special controllers needed to make it work. Au contraire -- the product features clearly state that "included drum, guitar and microphone peripherals enable players to perform music together." [emphasis added]. Even if Best Buy realizes their mistake and raises the price, their pre-order FAQ states "you will always receive the lower of the two prices."

We can't guarantee that Best Buy will actually honor this great deal when the game comes out in November, but it seems to us like they might have to. We recommend putting in the order now, printing out the applicable product features description and receipt, and arguing your case when it comes time for the in-store pick up.

It seems to me that you only get the lower price if the price has dropped.

Are we sure this isn't just for the wireless guitar + game, which has a MSRP of $59.99? It does say drum, guitar, and microphone though...

The sku is the same for the bundle as the game only version. I checked it by adding both to my cart from their respective pages, and it shows a single rock band with quantity of 2 in the cart. There's no way this one sticks. If it was a misprice it could, but not simply an incorrect description.

Not gonna end up working, but they do have items that allow it (and this is not a first). No clue why they aren't consistent with it.

Thos pre-orders for Rock Band have been up for quite some time on BB.com.
And yes, you can do in-store pickup for some pre-orders.

Now they've totally removed both of the links. They don't have any form of Rock Band on the Best Buy site anymore.

It shows Rock Band for both the 360 and PS3, but game only. States :

Drum, guitar and microphone accessories enable players to perform music together (accessories sold separately)


Optional guitar controller utilizes a five-way FX switch that allows flanger, wah wah, echo and chorus effects


Optional drum controller features four pads, a kick pedal and real drum sticks


Optional microphone can be tapped against your hand to play percussion instruments, such as tambourine and cowbell
