Can someone tell me how to get reduced price listings or how to find out in advance when ebay is going to offer their services cheaper. Because by the time I see them here it's too late and I usually miss them. I'm just looking for a way to reduce my ebay costs assoc. with selling there short of switching to craigslist that is. thanks for any reccommendations.

I believe if you go into your profile and sign up for all their email notifications you get them.
I don't list a whole lot so I don't think the daily spam is worth saving a few pennies.

I haven't found a way to get far advance notice.
So the best thing to do is to have your listings all made up and ready to go, and then post them when the sale day hits.

I think its free 9.99 and under listings if you use gallery.

Yup. Free listing IF the item is $9.99 or less AND you use the gallery option (35 cents). Not bad for us store owners looking to dump some of the more stagnant items. Of course, these sales usually result in TONS of crap being listed, so it can be a positive or a negative, depending on your luck.

its really a gimmick. the final result is that you're paying 35 cents for any listing $9.99 or less with gallery.

Yeah. Unless you were going to create auctions with gallery anyway, this thing is worthless. Which is a good thing in my case. I use gallery, and I appreciate that once people notice that it's not free, they will get disenfranchised and not list their auction.

Well, I took advantage of this and listed a bunch of items. Funny thing is one dvd I have gotten 2 emails asking if they can buy it now and offering me more than I thought it was even worth (I guess it's rare). Is this normal in this day and age (I haven't sold for a while), and how do you establish value for an item that has no sale history at all on ebay, half, or amazon?

You'll have an established value in a few days! Something's only worth the price someone else is willing to pay. You're in a good spot with more than one individual showing interest---could spark quite the bidding war if you have something that is rarely ever listed.

I'm relieved I didn't place a BIN on it for some arbitrary amount. Now I'm just wondering if I should take an offer while it's hot, or just hope the bidding will eventually reach that number. I see the amount of watchers has jumped today as well, so that can only be a good sign, and I suppose the weekend will bring even more.

Let it run never cancel to go outside bothsides lose protection that way and you never know a bidding war in the final few minutes might drive it higher.
