So a while ago it was thought that the third season of BSG would be coming out in August, (http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=7084), does anyone have any scoop on what happened to this?

There's a mention of S3 at the end of this posting:

It basically says that it's not been officially announced and the last rumoured date was September '07. That was back in May.

SciFi is showing a special extended episode entitled "Razor" on Nov 24th. This tells the story of the Pegasus, under both Admiral Cain and Commander Lee Adama. The DVD will be released very shortly after airing and it is speculated that the S3 boxset will come at that time also.

I have a feeling this is going to be pushed back way farther than I'd like, in order to coincide with the airing of the made-for-TV movie in November and the debut of Season 4. I don't expect to see Season 3 released until October at least, if not November.

Maybe the Sci-Fi Channel is delaying the DVD because they don't want to cut into the ratings for the reruns.

Oh, wait, Sci-Fi isn't running any reruns, even though the show has a nine month gap before new episodes start. Wouldn't want to cut into all that wrasslin' now, would we?

No new knews on Season 3, but the Razor DVD will come out Dec 4th as well as the first season on HD-DVD:

I don't understand why they would air this or release the DVD before Season 3 is released, doesn't make much sense to me.

The way I read the press, "Razor" isn't really part of Season 4; it's supposedly a standalone TV-movie that covers a timespan beginning before start of the series and focusing on events before and concurrent with Seasons 1-3.

As usual, I'd expect the release of S3 to be tied to promotions for the start of S4.

most returning tv shows don't release DVD sets until 2-3 weeks before the next season starts

I'm tired of waiting. I feel like I have had most of Season 3 ruined for me. Just announce a date already.

Razor preorder is up at Amazon.....and is at a discounted rate of 38.99 with MSRP of 59.98. That seems pretty crazy for a movie, so hopefully Amazon is incorrect.
