All store exclusives and freebies- 7/29/07 to 8/04/07

These weekly threads are for the posting and discussion of that particular week's store exclusives and freebies.

Link to the master list is below.

Volunteers needed: I regularly go to Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, and Walmart; but don't visit the other stores every week. If you work at or regularly go to the FYE/TWEC chains, Costco, Borders, K-mart/Sears, Barnes and Noble, Blockbuster, Hot Topic, or any other store that has DVD exclusives; I'd appreciate any updates you could give us.

All Stores - many stores still have Simpsons Moviecash with various Simpsons season sets

Target - bonus disc with Bratz Movie sneak peek with Bratz: Sleep-Over Adventure
300: 2 DVD Deluxe Edition includes 300 movie download (full theatrical version) for PC or mobile device with exclusive “Making of 300” download - this is the same as the 2 disc Limited Edition everywhere else, with the only additional content being the downloadable feature and making-of, and the different wording on the slipcover

Circuit City - 4 collectible cards with 300
cool poster with new Korn CD

Best Buy - same The Bourne Files movie cash as last week ($9.99 for the 3 DVD pack and moviecash when using a Mastercard)
300: Exclusive 2 DVD Limited Edition comes with replica helmet and 4 collectible art cards, $34.99
graphic novel with Babylon 5: The Lost Tales
moviemoney of $10.50 for Rush Hour 3 with purchase of select DVDs
collector's tin with Popeye The Sailor: 1933 – 1938, Volume I

Wal Mart - Firehouse Dog packaged with Far from Home: The Adventures of Yellow Dog
300 packaged with Alexander DC
300 2 disc comes with the movie download code
bonus DVD packed with the region 2 special features with Hot Fuzz
Pathfinder packaged with Ravenous (possible exclusive cover art/slipcover on Ravenous?)

FYE/Sam Goody/other TWEC - bonus DVD with 23 minute featurette with pre-order of 300

Borders - I searched and found nothing

Costco - I searched and found nothing

Barnes and Noble - No time to check this week; has anyone else been there?

Blockbuster - nothing reported

K-Mart/Sears - No time to check this week; has anyone else been there?

Hot Topic - No time to check this week; has anyone else been there?

This is week #1 of the new format.
next week: exclusive thread for 8/05/07 to 8/11/07

Umm, thanks. But I've been doing it every week for two years or so in the DVDTalk forum. The thread was recently closed due to length, and in retooling for part 2 of the thread, I'm thinking that perhaps the weekly updates are more appropriate to the bargain forum.

oh, no, i know that. but i meant good idea to put it in the bargain forum. like if you made a new thread for each week. the other thread you would always update at the end of the post, yes? so people would have to go searching through the last few pages to see. this way, i see the week, and i click the post, and that week's exclusives are up there. just makes it easier.

first time i've seen it... great idea.

i usually keep good track of what's where but sometimes i lose one in the mix and end up regretting a purchase.

thanks for doing this regularly.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I'll do a weekly thread here, and update the definitive list more often.

That forum bug may be fixed someday soon, but instead of waiting I'm going to break the master list down into multiple posts, probably one post per store, all kept at the top of the thread. That should keep each post small enough to not run into the editing bug.

But it is all still in the planning stages, I appreciate your feedback and am looking for more.

Yea, this is a good thread. Hope to see one next week. Very valuable info for the 'collectors'.

Walmart also has Pathfinder packaged with Ravenous (and I think this is some special edition, as the cover art is different than the one I usually see).

There's nothing at Blockbuster.

I think a lot of people just stay on the bargain forum, and never look at the other forums.

Looking back, I guess that was what I did the first few years I was here.

Any mod or admin know the stats? Looking briefly at the views per thread, it does look like the bargain forum gets a lot more activity than the others.
