proposed Twin Peaks Season 3 Graphic Novel cancelled

eh i couldnt think of a good title for this thread but anyway...

there was a proposal for a Twin Peaks Season 3 graphic novel that would have been included in the Twin Peaks Complete Mystery box set thats going to be coming out but evidently its not going to happen now. heres an interview about it...

I really liked some of the fan scripts I've read online, but this would have been far more rewarding.

Bummer it fell through...I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

I'm curious why this fan doesn't just release his work as a PDF for fans... I mean, he's got some of the images already done and the script... maybe he just doesn't want to put more time into it?

At this point would he be allowed to do that? It might be one thing if somebody like you or me made a fan comic of Twin Peaks season three, adapting some online scripts to comic book form, and that might fly under the radar, but could this artist really get away with it? I am sure there must be some copyright laws involved here that would prevent that.
