DVD Talk Legend
While certainly not a huge shock, considering his age, another master of cinema has passed away. It's a little weird that both Ingmar Bergman and Michelangelo Antonioni would both die on the very same day, but there you have it. My favorite Antonioni film is quite possibly The Passenger with Jack Nicholson. Not only is it beautifully shot, but it's just a great film from start to finish. It has one of my favorite quotes of all time, and the last seven minutes or so are fantastic.

I've loved BlowUp ever since I saw it in a film class in college - what a strange, mesmerizing movie. And I finally saw The Passenger for the first time a few months back and thought it was nearly as great. What a terrible week for film fans.

Jesus! I'm not a superstitious person, but what were the odds of two of the greatest directors dying on the same day? Just dumbfounded about the double sad news.

RIP
I was just talking to friends yesterday how he and Godard were the last 2 greats left. Two of my favorite directors who I felt made quality films throughout their entire careers now gone. Shame.
