I was watching Ebert & Roeper today, and towards the end of the show, Roeper revealed that in this upcoming week (either August 2nd or 4th, couldn't quite remember) there will be over 20 years and 2,000+ video reviews of the show, including specials as well (If We Picked the Oscars, director-centric episodes, etc.), will be put up at www.atthemoviestv.com. Unless I missed something, everything will be streamed completely for free.
Moreover, Roger Ebert will introduce the archive and hold a live chat about the site and "whatever other questions you want to ask."
How I missed the bickering between Siskel and Ebert--it'll be an absolute blast to watch again!
Again, the website: http://www.atthemoviestv.com

I saw this on the show today as well. I'm really looking forward to watching some of the old review clips between Ebert/Siskel and Ebert/Roeper. I'm sure there are plenty of classic arguments over the 30+ years of the show.
I'd like to hear what Roger has to say during the live chat but it'll probably be too much of a bitch to get into on Thurs. that I'll probably pass. I'll visit the site when the excitement has died down.

That would be amazing if they sperated everything so that you could search for a certain movie and get the reveiw clip for just that movie.

If I remember correctly, Roeper mentioned that there will be a search engine and that reviews will be accessible by movie title, by director and by actor.

I remember a review, can't remember the title, but it was in the mid-90's. Siskel gave a thumbs down to the movie, but Ebert gave it a thumbs up; Siskel was so shocked at this, that he and Ebert debated it to the point that the latter retracted his thumbs up and changed it to a thumbs down.
Then Siskel tried to get Ebert to look directly into the camera and apologize for giving the thumbs up to that Burt Reynolds movie Cop and a Half (I think Ebert was the only critic that liked that film).

This is going to be a very entertaining resource. Pity one has to sit through that increasingly rage-inducing "This is Amanda Congden reporting from New Orleans for my latest update on the Members Project" again and again and again. I'll have to keep my fingers on the volume knob. It is also unfortunate that one doesn't have an alphabetically browsable list of reviewed movies.
Edit: A couple of other reservations I have: The search engine is poor, and the reviews don't go back any further than about 20 years.

I was disappointed to see that they accidently attached the review of Batman Forever to the listing for Batman and Robin.

The review of Million Dollar Baby goes to the very short second one that they had the week after the first review which was very long. I hope they fix it.

this is great!...I just listened to their review of Child's Play 2 (i'm a big fan of the series, leave me alone lol) and I can't believe how close Ebert was to giving it thumbs up! He says "it delivers the goods, is truly terrifying and well made" yet he was so "disturbed" by it it gets a thumbs down...isn't a killer doll SUPPOSED to be disturbing?? And would the movie be "truly terrifying" if it wasn't disturbing? lol I know this movie and the others in the series are rather humorous now (bride and seed intentionally), but it seems to me that if you found the movie to be well made and scary, shouldn't it get a thumbs up? I guess it just wasn't an enjoyable experience for him...I however love CP2 and have no shame in admitting it lol

I see. Too bad.
Found a few other gems:
-Friedkin's The Guardian: Siskel cracks up at the beginning while describing the plot; later, Ebert tells a bomb of a joke badly.
-I love how they viciously rip into Frozen Assets, Mad Dog Time, She's Out of Control (Siskel was actually resigned to quitting his job after this one), Speed Zone (Smothers Brothers "cinematic hookers"), et al. Those heavy pans are my favourites.

Here's a 1982 "Sneak Previews" clip with Siskel & Ebert's "infamous" review of Blade Runner (at least Ebert said people should see it for the special effects, although he mispronounces "replicant"):

Hey, he answered my question!
Chris:
Why on earth would anyone want to watch a subtitled movie??? Especially if its in a theatre were you cannot go back if you missed anything. This is a no brainer, sure they may be good movies, but I want to watch the actors ACT , if I am constantly reading to keep up with the movie I miss seeing the film , this is what books are for. Then there is the problem of not being able to read whats on the screen when it is against a white background,Yellow should be the default colour not white. This is my big point how can you review a movie if you can not watch the expressions on the faces etc. of all the actors.
Roger Ebert:
Because you don't just WATCH actors act, you HEAR them. Why rob an actor of his or her instrument? Dubbed movies sound phoned in on amateur night. And many of the best films are foreign, so don't deprive yourself. Also, don't tell a lot of people you won't go to subtitled movies. They may leap to assumptions.

And though it's sacrilige to say so amongst all these fanboys, they're right about Blade Runner. The story is rather weak, and certainly plays second (or third) fiddle to the special effects.

A decade later, in 1992, Siskel & Ebert reviewed the Director's Cut of Blade Runner. By then, Siskel did pretty much a 180 degree swing on the movie and went to a positive review, but Ebert was again mostly positive on the special effects yet still down on the storyline (and he still mispronounces "replicants"):
Sad to see Siskel's decline towards the end of his life there, around late-'98 to early-'99. In the review for "Urban Legend", for example, with the benefit of hindsight he looks slightly drugged and sluggish.

Yeah, just watched them do Thin Red Line earlier and noticed that. Do want to point out that Ebert's solo review appears to be just slightly above average. Where as in this clip, he praises the film as much as Siskel does. Guess he was showing a lil' bit of sympathy there on camera.

At the end of his time on the show --when Siskel was sick, he didn't appear in the balcony and reviewed by audio only.
On the last show Siskel appeared on, they reviewed five new movies. The first was AT FIRST SIGHT. I can't figure out what the other four were.

I watched the review for "Raising Arizona" yesterday and Ebert tells Siskel that in five years they will look back and Siskel will realize that "True Stories" was a better film.
Now I love "True Stories", mainly for my obsession with the Talking Heads, but even i will realize that RA is a classic and TS is found in the Wal-Mart bargin bin
