Looks like this approach will definitely be YMWV!!! As, of the 12 I looked for, only 6 were found in-stock @ a local store. The other 6 were not in stock (according to web site store-pickup) at ANY store in the Greater Houston Metro area.

(NewEgg Link) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001236&Tpk=samsung%2b216bw) I like it, and I think it's a new model, plus it's a huge upgrade from the 17" CRT I was using. I did check out a lot of displays and I agree with you about the Acer displays being good, and they can usually be found for relatively low prices.

Was just going to post that. It's a confusing release as the conversion to Widescreen has caused some info to be left off, but added info in some cases. I think it is still the better version if you have a Widescreen display though and is a steal at this price. If I can find it online I will be buying it as a gift.
