I am pretty confident that the LOTR sets are NOT the four disc set special editions. I was in walmart today and they have the three sets of movies in extended edition packaging that looks almost identical to the 4-disc set packaging (does not have any picture on the front like the previously released 2-disc extended edtions). It said extended edition, and these were 2-disc sets and they had them for 14.99 each....

If I am right (and that is a big IF...), you are going to have a hell of a hard time pricematching for the four disc sets, if everybody is advertising the new 2-disc sets in their ad (BB, CC). They are going to know that the advertised sets are the new 2-disc, not the 4-disc (unless you can clearly see the 4-disc wording in the ad picture).
I have NEVER questioned speedy before (and he knows that), but it seems to hard to believe that CC and BB would have these on sale so cheap, the same time I see a never before seen set of 2-disc LOTR discs that look identical to the 4-disc sets in WallyWorld.

Understandable. But Best Buy's is 12.99 I think, not THAT great of a deal, but it may be the 4-disc. Even if BB's is the 4-disc, CC should pricematch it and beat it by 10%, making it roughly $9.
Again, it's a big 'IF' like you said, but Speedy has the 4-discers, and he says that is what looks to be pictured in the ad. I'll trust him and take the chance.

I'm wondering if New Line has re-issued these sets in slim cases.
I can see the words "Special Extended DVD Edition" at the bottom of each case shown and which can be seen in this picture:
Do the 4-disc sets say '4-disc' on the spine? If they do, it's probably new 2-disc sets we're getting for a bargain, and not the 4-disc ones.
The LE's are on BB.com for 19.99, while the 4-disc ones are 22.99. The ad states save $7 off of 19.99...so it doesn't look good if both stores have these new LE's on sale. Of course, I'm assuming.

Do the 4-disc sets say '4-disc' on the spine? If they do, it's probably new 2-disc sets we're getting for a bargain, and not the 4-disc ones.
The LE's are on BB.com for 19.99, while the 4-disc ones are 22.99. The ad states save $7 off of 19.99...so it doesn't look good if both stores have these new LE's on sale. Of course, I'm assuming.
We'll know on Sunday.

No limit noted and that's what many at CAG are planning to do in regards to the 1600 point card.

Yeah, I picked up a 1 year Live card and 5 of the 1600 point cards yesterday before I knew for sure if the deal was stackable. I figured I could always return the extras if I had to. I'll have to stop back on Sunday to get the price adjusted. I would've picked up a few more of the 1600 point cards, but I wanted to leave some for other deal hunters. If there are more when I go on Sunday I might get them then. :)

I'm hoping that they are in my area like the ad for the Northeast. I've noticed that a few of deals (the laptops) that speedy posts have rebates in my region compared to the version he has. It be nice if they were OTD for me as well this coming Sunday.

if your referring to the old xbox live cards from the original xbox, then your answer is yes. I tried it when toys r' us had them on sale for 20 bucks. Still wish I would've bought them all.
Or if for some reason you mean the xbox 360 live cards, then ofcourse you can do it.

They didn't have the LotR extended editions at Circuit City, so I successfully price matched them at Best Buy. Great deal! The workers there were also surprised, noting that they were $40 when it first came out.

Just got back from CC and they don't have the newer 2-disc on sale. It is like pictured in the ad. The older 1-disc release with the award series gold slipcover. Hold out for the 2-disc. I got it at Target a while back for $10.

I managed to pick up all of the EE 4 disc LOTR DVDs. The store only had a total of 3 sets so I was glad I was the third person there to get them. I also picked up the 2 disc The Last Samurai and the Godfather trilogy. I also grabbed Dune 3 disc as a gift for a family member. I was also going to get Windtalkers director's cut but it was ringing up at $14.99. They had it in the bin with several of the FF editions which apparently was the only one included in the sale. I also discovered that the Memorex DL discs were $39.99 instead of $12.99. I'll pick some up on Black Friday again, but they rarely seem to be below $1 per disc. Thanks to Speedy for supplying us all with these ads.

I was at my circuit city 1 minute after the store opened and someone had already snatched up the two 1600 points cards they had in-stock. The manager would only special order 4 (company policy according to him, was to special order only 5 items at a time). It took them about 30 minutes to figure out how to do the order.
Afterwards I went to best buy and they had a whole peg-full of them, I'm not trying to be too greedy, so I got them to price-match 4 of them. It was my first time price-matching at best buy and it took them all of 3 minutes to figure out how to price-match an ad that wasn't even theirs.

My local CC didn't have any of the LotR EE's in stck, so I went to get it price matched at best buy. They tried checking the CC website to check the inventory, but the site was closed and updating (lucky me). They finally got the manager to OK the deal. Got all 3! These will be a great gift! I went to BB and could not get a PM either. Stated that they didn't PM "package deals" and that's what this was.
My points adventure yesterday was pretty interesting. I woke up pretty early and checked CC.com where the discount wasn't showing up, so I ordered 2 cards from 2 different locations for in-store pickup and figured I'd get them to PM down the price when I picked them up.
I get to the first location, and the CSR can't figure out how to adjust it, after three people trying and finally getting the manager, he said that this is not an accessory and that the ad was misleading, in that the points aren't actually part of the deal. I had him cancel the order, but not before getting their corporate number to file a complaint.
Drive across town to the second store, and the CSRs there can't figure out how to do the override either. The manager comes over to do it, and pulls my order.. Only 1 card pulled. :( He goes to grab another card from the shelf (of course there are none), so that order had to be cancelled as well. I got a $24 GC out of it, and used it to buy a 4000 point card for about the same 50% discount.
When I got home, there was a message from the first store that said the manager had changed his mind, and if I wanted the points to come back to the store and he'd adjust the price. I ended up getting $90 worth of points for about $50 (They charge tax for some reason, even though I've never been taxed on points cards at BB or EB).

They would not honor the ad at my CC for the 1600 points card, they said the ad was misleading adn would not ring up that way. Gave me the same BS that it was not an accesory, yet when it rings up it clearly stated game accesory. hen they try to give me a line of crap of that it meant if I bought a card and say the headpiece that it would work. I will for sure file a complaint since the ad is either truly misleading or exactly the way most of us interpert it.
