I thought this was a really good, solid show for the first 9 or so eps. Episodes 10 through 12 of Season One catapulted it to "great" status, and I can't wait for the new season.

Anyone know if they are using the second Dexter book as the basis of this season?

I read somewhere that they aren't. Ill post a bit about the two new episodes, no REAL spoilers, but here is some info.
Is that part of the second book?

The second book deals a lot with the black cop that hates Dexter and his former life in the Special Ops.

More of them working together than the one trying to bust him.

I really couldn't resist grabbing the first 2 episodes of Dexter. Looking at them I don't think that the new season is going to be based on the second book. Sgt Doakes harrassing my idol, erm I mean Dexter is still there but that seems to be the only thing left from Dearly Devoted Dexter in there. It's a shame cos I really liked his nemesis from it, he made the ice truck killer look like the ice cream seller!
I liked the episodes but it looks to me like they're trying to "humanize" Dex a little bit. I really hope not as it would spoil it for me. For me it's the whole anti-social personality good guy that helps it to work so well. Of course though you can't really judge just from a couple of episodes.

I just caught up with this entire series in 2 days thanks to Itunes. I really can't believe how good it is; definitley in my top 5 on TV today.
I don't have Shotime, does anybody know if Itunes is gonna continue to carry the season 2 episodes.
thx
