My email is getting bombarded with an incredible amount of spam in a daily basis. I use Outlook with a POP3 account and I'm looking for some free and user friendly software that will help diminish the amount of crap I recieve daily.
Any suggestions?

It's been a few years but I use to use Spambayes, which is available as an Outlook plugin. It worked well at the time, but like most filters of it's type you have to train it. If you already have a folder of good emails and a spam folder than you can tell it to learn from them and it's pretty effective out of the gate.

Outlook has a built in spam filter which worked pretty dang fine for me. But, like you, I still got tired of going to the spam folder at every e-mail download and making sure it was all spam before deleting it. I personally solved the problem by changing my e-mail address to something VERY LONG and tedious and just mailed it to FRIENDS and company's with strict policies about releasing e-mail addresses. For all others I gave them my Yahoo! e-mail address and let them take the chance that I'm going to "empty" my spam folder without looking in it.
But, yeah - easy way is to change your e-mail address - something with lots of periods and dashes and strange words. Example: jo.hn-sm-i.th.de-fault-dou.ble-che-ese.who.p.per@smith.net

Free? User-friendly? Reroute your email through gmail, and let it do the dirty work.
