Misery: Collector's Edition finally being released on Oct. 2, 2007

I saw this announcement at DVD Town this morning and they also show some cover art. I never bought the original release and I have been holding out for a CE of this movie for a long time. The details don't mention the audio so I'm curious if it'll get a 5.1 upgrade?

"Fox will release a Collector's Edition of "Misery" on DVD trough the MGM label on October 2nd."

Have the original release but will probably upgrade for commentary tracks by Reiner and Goldman (although it probably would have been more fun to have one track with the both of them discussing it together).

I'm happy about this! I had held off on this title for some time thinking something better might come along.

Wonderful news.

This is the one Rob Reiner title (pre-North, that is) that I've been holding off on. After all, This Is Spinal Tap, The Sure Thing, The Princess Bride, and When Harry Met Sally have SEs (as do Stand By Me and A Few Good Men, but those aren't MGM), so I figured one would be released eventually.

Unfortunately, this isn't called the "Dirty Bird" edition or the "Cock-a-Doodie Collector's Edition". However, this is long deserved; will definitely be picking this up.

Awesome! I'd rather have the movie poster as the cover art though. I am tired of the big heads. I'll be double dipping for sure. One of my favorite King adaptations.

ah finally!

i think it will be similar to the R2UK SE,just like the SE of Adventures Of Priscilla.

are there any more SEs available in the UK by MGM but not yet in the US? i think that's pretty much it...

Family Fun Edition would have been okay with me.

I've always loved the original poster art. It is just beautiful and perfect! But I guess people don't read much today,so instead of just the cast names at the top of the poser here, they 'must' plaster big heads on the dvd covers. The CE is not 'that' bad though, but this original art is far superior!

The original posters are ALWAYS much, much better than the DVD cover.

Cover's ok, but the original art would have been perfect.

I'm a tad surprised it doesn't announce being an Academy Award winner on the cover.

For a laugh, you should have done "that scene" from About Schmidt with a giant CENSORED sticker.

and the original release is not enhanced for widescreen tvs. This edition should look much better.
