A guilty pleasure of mine but c'mon, 3 releases of this and no anamorphic True Lies!

I think I'll pass this time.

BTW, wasn't "Family Fun Edition" used for Home Alone last year?

If the release really was family friendly, they'd make it FS.

My kids hate those black bars.

Was Jingle All The Way REALLY a movie that needed an extended cut? I mean don't get me wrong, I liked the movie when I was a kid, but like everyone else in this thread is wondering, was this really more of a higher priority than a True Lies: SE (or at least an anamorphic version)?

Interestingly enough, my whole family hates fullscreen. My dad mistakenly ordered a used fullscreen version of Breach online (for only a couple bucks, actually), and as soon as we got it and he saw his mistake, he told me to "get this shit out of my house!"

I sold it at FYE and he actually got a profit from it in store credit.

I'll say it - I love this movie. It's in my permanent Christmas movie rotation. Not sure it needs an extended version but I'll check it out.

I liked the movie but I am sure geting tired of double dipping. Especially when I pay again and what I pay for isn't for much of anything.

If fox is continuing with the "family fun edition" why not give us a new SE of Home Alone 2.

I am starting to think Fox will never let it see the light of day due to 9/11.

From the imdb.com:

In March 2001, a U.S. District Court jury in Birmingham, Michigan, ruled that 20th Century Fox stole the script idea, "Jingle All the Way", from Detroit High School biology teacher, Brian Webster. The studio was ordered to pay $19 million, later reduced to $1.5 million. Webster submitted the script, then named "Could This Be Christmas?", to the studio in 1994 and never received payment or credit despite the film making $183 million. Fox appealed and the verdict was reversed, since Webster's script was submitted after the studio had already purchased a treatment (summary/outline) of what would become the film's script. The court acknowledged that it is not difficult to believe that two writers can independently create a plot using similar inspiration/experience.
The lawsuit made Fox take the DVD OOP until the matter was settled.

Whenever I see or hear the title of this movie, I always think of the running gag on Conan O'Brien where every time "Schwarzenegger" does the faux video interview, he has to mention the "box-office smash Jingle All The Way!!!"

Skip to the 5:00 mark (EDIT - or rather, the 3:00 mark, counting down):

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mByD8fj5bEs" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

Sorry, I have nothing useful to add to this thread.

I'll grab this. It never hurts to have more holiday flicks and I'm a total Arnie completeist. Besides anything with Phil Hartman is worth buying.
