Looking at some links online, it would appear that Planet Hollywood (used to be Alladin) has the best "low buy in" (sub $100) NLHE tourneys. Anyone played in them recently? Structure appears to be the same as last year when it was Alladin (and it was a good tourney strucuture for the buyin), just curious if that has changed recently or not.

I was in Vegas in May and only played at Planet Hollywood and Caesar's. For the sub-$100 tournies, the structures were basically the same. Caesar's had a longer blind level (30 min) compared to PH (20 min). Caesar's introduced an ante after several levels while PH had none; however, Caesar added a few extra levels that PH skips.

Both places had $60 tournies with like the $10 add-on (ie: must buy) for extra chips. From my experience, the PH tournies were filled with more donkeys, which is both good and bad. They also featured less people in general. I played in two PH tournies and got 2nd out of about 38 or so then like 15th out of 45 or so.

Caesar's had many more ppl who knew what they were doing, though there were still probably 1-2 per table that were not that good (But not as bad as PH players). The room itself as well as the dealers and atmosphere were night and day, however. Caesar's was incredible. I played twice there as well. Finished 4th out of about 68 once and well out of the money the second time.

Though I praised Caesar, I don't think PH is a bad tourney. Especially if you can pinpoint the donks quickly.

Thanks for the info. It looks like, according to their website, that Caesar's might have increased their buyin to a $200 format at noon and a $330/$540 for the 7 pm (more expensive on the weekend). Might have added a $120 tourney at 11 PM as well.

Ah. While I was there in May, it was like $135 at noon, $220 at 7pm and $70 at 11 pm.

The first two had 40 minute levels, and the last one had 30 minute levels. Also all those amounts include the buy-in + the add-on.

those aren't bad buy in's, though the 200/330/540 gets pricey! (at least for players like me)
