Movies You're looking forward to in 2nd Half of '07?
With this week finishing out the first 6 months of '07, I was wondering since most of the 'big' films are out (save Transformers, Bourne, Harry, and Simpsons) but what are you all thinking are the new must sees?
Here's mine month by month:
July:
-"Joshua": had a great trailer and looks riveting, although maybe a tad too Omen-like. Looks great with a good cast.
-"Rescue Dawn": simple looks amazing. My knowledge of Herzog is limited, but Bale never does wrong.
August:
"Halloween": amust see just for the controversy of the script that was leaked. I'm sure Zombie will deliver, but its a remake of the most beloved horror film of all-time; could be the best or the deathnail in remake central.
Sept:
-"The Brave One": Foster goes all "Ms. 45" or "Death Wish" here, but Neil Jordan will add a lot of subtext to the proceedings. One of my most antcipated.
-"Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford": I know of all the re-edits or delays, but just seems so interesting.
Oct:
-"3:10 to Yuma": Bale. Nuff said. Actually, it could revitalize the Western film genre. good trailer.
November:
-"American Gangster": After the flop of "the Good Year", this could be Scott return to the Oscars. Great cast and another interesting trailer.
December:
-"Golden Compass": I know nothing of this, but could be the new franchise that Narnia won't be.
-"Sweeney Todd": A new Burton with Depp. Awesome.
-"Be Kind Rewind": Gondry. New. film.
Others:
-"Bee Movie": Seinfeld could prove gold here.
-"Artic Tale": a documentary ala "March of the Penguins", and I'm all for that.

Mine is, by far, The Kingdom.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned The Darjeeling Limited.

I just saw the trailer for I am Legend and I'm in for that movie. I'd think that'd be a summer movie, but maybe they are approaching the story in a interesting way.

I am looking forward to Ratatouille (this wknd), Hairspray (can't believe John Travolta gets all made up...not to mention Christopher Walken, Queen Latifah, and Michelle Pfeiffer are in it too) and Bee Movie.
