I’m looking to exchange—SAFELY & SECURELY—each of the following DVDs:
“DALLAS” (1950), 2006 Warner Home Video DVD release. Starring Gary Cooper. With Ruth Roman. 94 min/color. Lively, colorful flick with musical score by Max Steiner to match. Cooper is in good form. Gorgeous transfer. DVD is in MINT condition: played once, plays perfectly. Original slim keepcase and artwork in NEAR MINT/MINT condition!
“THE GHOSTBREAKERS” (1940), a 2002 Universal Home Video DVD release. Starring Bob Hope and Paulette Goddard. 85 min/B&W. Comedy. Percolates with typical Bob Hope humor. Goddard looks great. Several bonus features. DVD is in MINT condition: played once, plays perfectly. Original keepcase and insert in NEAR MINT/MINT condition!
“MY FAVORITE BLONDE/STAR SPANGLED RHYTHM” (both 1942), a 2002 Universal Home Video DVD release. A Bob Hope double feature. The first is a comedy with Madeleine Carroll. The second assembles most of Paramount Picture Studios stars—including, among others, Betty Hutton, Eddie Bracken, Preston Sturges, Bing Crosby, Fred MacMurray, Ray Milland, Dorothy Lamour, Cecil B. DeMille, Paulette Goddard, Veronica Lake, Dona Drake, Rochester, et al--in a musical/comedy extravaganza. Generous bonus features. DVD is in MINT condition: played once, plays perfectly. Original keepcase and insert in NEAR MINT/MINT condition!
"ROAD SHOW" (1940), a 2004 Image Entertainment/Hal Roach Studios DVD release. Starring Carole Landis. Co-starring Adolphe Menjou. 87 min./B&W. Slapstick, "travelling-circus" comedy produced and directed by Hal Roach. Songs by Hoagy Carmichael. Fun appearances by recognizable Hal Roach Studios veterans like Patsy Kelly, Maurice Cass, Johnny Arthur, Clarence Wilson. Cameo by Shemp Howard; Willie Best also appears. This is very much a Landis/Menjou showcase. Carole looks stunning throughout and even has a rather nice ballad to "sing." Menjou is typically suave and nutty in his role. Film has been mastered from original 35mm nitrate positive and fine grain. DVD is in MINT condition; clean & plays perfectly. Original keepcase, artwork, and insert all in NEAR MINT condition.
“SPRINGFIELD RIFLE” (1952), a 2006 Warner Home Video DVD release. Starring Gary Cooper. With Phyllis Thaxter. 93 min/color. Interesting plot twists; co-written by "Gunsmoke" creator Charles Marquis Warren. Gorgeous transfer; location shooting near the Sierras. DVD is in MINT condition: played once, plays perfectly. Original slim keepcase and artwork in NEAR MINT/MINT condition!
