Albums That Need To Be Remastered.

What albums do you think needs to be remastered?

I go for U2 albums, The Stone Roses, Metallica's And Justice For All and Master Of Puppets and The Pixies' Doolittle and Surfer Rosa.

All the KMFDM side project stuff.

Both Excessive Force CD's as well as En Esch's "Cheesy".

"Cheesy" needs it bad though.

Metallica's Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets are available remastered via the Gold DCC discs for a reasonable price. They sound fantastic, especially Master of Puppets.

All of Slayer's albums were remastered by their label already a few years back.

3 of the U2 albums were remastered as MoFi gold CDs, but Joshua Tree will set you back around $100 for a used copy. It would be nice though if they could remaster the remaining along with re-releasing the prevous remasters.

I agree with you about Alice Coooper, Killer is one of my favorite albums of all time, but the drum sound is horrible, could really use some cleaning up.

The Stooges' Raw Power desperately needs another remaster -- and they need to keep Iggy Pop's hands off the dials this time. No matter how he tries to pitch it, the 1997 remaster is unlistenable.

My Bloody Valentine's catalog could probably use a remastering too. The current versions sound a bit muddy, but that could be intentional.

Are you kidding me? The Iggy Pop mix rocks like nothing else. The Bowie mix is so disappointing in comparison.

The mix is better, but he cranked the volume up so high that it constantly clips. Even if that's the effect he was going for, it doesn't change the fact that it sounds like crap.

You sure about that? I'm a huge Slayer fan and I've never read anything about the classic albums being remastered. The closest they've come were the remastered tracks on the Sounds of the Apocalypse box set.

Molly Hatchet's first and beatin the Odds need it badly. All the Blackfoot cd's. Iron Maiden has remasterd their cd's but they sound like crap a re-remaster would be in order. I heard that Thin Lizzy was going to remaster the Jailbreak cd sometime this year, but I haven't seen it yet.

The Slayer stuff has been remastered. Met Blade Show No Mercy, Haunting the Chapel and Hell Awaits a while back, and Reign In Blood, South of Heaven and Seasons in the Abyss were done a couple of years ago.

Indeed. It is such an atrocity that his albums haven't received the remastering treatment that many of his peers' have.

I guess only time will tell if Prince and WB will ever come into any sort of an agreement about this.

I agree definately. The saddest part is that Prince wrote Sugarwalls for Sheena Easton yet.... Sheena's 1980's catalog has been remastered before Prince's. I mean, WTF?

They need to entirely fix the mix and mastering of 1999. Tons of channel bleeding, distortion etc on that album.
