quick question about the batman animated series

are these dvds released as seasons? on the box it says volume 1, 2, ect. with 28 episodes apiece. are all the volumes full complete seasons or are they selected episodes like the bevis/butthead dvds?

also, i was on dvdaficionado and it says that reno 911 seasons 2-4 are uncensored. does that mean season 1 is censored?

if anyone owns this i would really appreciate an answer thanks.

They're not full season sets, but they do contain all of the episodes. By releasing them in volumes, they could keep the number of episodes contained within approximately equal. Luckily, BTAS was composed of stand alone episodes for the most part and there weren't any season arcs to worry about.

Otherwise, well, see here:

That'd be a hell of a Season 1 set!

A lot of cartoons have inititial orders of something like 40-60 episodes, so the first season would be huge.

also, it should be noted that volumes 1 through 3 cover the entirety of the original Batman: The Animated Series, while volume 4 is actually episodes of The Adventures of Batman & Robin that aired a couple of years after the initial series ended. the animation style and tone are somewhat different, though i believe it was mostly the same people behind it.

I just bought the first volume of Batman: The Animated Series and it appears they are not in order...at least regarding air-date. What is the proper order to go by...airdate or the order the boxsets put them in?

^ Production order. I believe some of the two-parters were split up during the air dates and the part 2 didn't run as the following episode.

Seeing as your initial question has been pretty much answered to a t, yes, the first season of Reno 911! is censored and 2-4 are all uncensored. They curse up a storm but the blurs remain intact.

Got another quick question: Is there a list for Batman: TAS (as well as Superman: TAS and Justice League) of the stand-alone movies or episodes that were not included in the season sets?

The reason I ask this is I want to get all the releases (original movies or specials) without duplicating myself and Warner did a lot of releasing compilation episodes before the season sets became the thing. They name most of these releases like a movie title and if you don't know any better you can find yourself with extra episodes that you already have.
