GILLIGAN'S ISLAND - what if Gilligan was black?
If Gilligan was portrayed by a black actor, I believe this show might never have been seen in syndication. I believe all canned episodes would be banned to a remote desert island, never to be seen again.
Think about the implications: Gilligan is stupid; Gilligan hangs around with a gorilla friend and a monkey from time to time; Mr. Howell calls Gilligan “that boy!”
Sometimes Gilligan would imitate a gorilla by slouching over and waving his fingers under his armpits. Gilligan makes silly faces.
No, if Gilligan were black, the cellulite for that show would have been burned.

Even back then I don't think it would make it on the air. They would have to reverse the roles so that Gilligan is the smart one surrounded by idiot whites. Somewhat like whites are portrayed on Sanford and Son.

If Gilligan was black they wouldn't have gotten lost on a three hour tour.
