What's on the new Starship Troopers DVD?

So,i finally wanna pick up "Starship Troopers" on DVD,and i see it has this new release which came out 06.12.07

http://www.dvdempire.com/Exec/v4_ite...earchID=142535

Now,i can't find any definitive answer as to what's on the disc, some sites say it's 1 disc, others say it's 2 discs and i couldn't find exact full specs on any site.
So if anyone can help out and let me know what's on the new disc, and if it's indeed the 2 disc SE just with a new package, please do!
Thx!

According to the link you posted, it says "repackaged", and the only feature is a commentary track. Looks like one of those "Let's put the same old disc in a new box and hope people think it's a new edition" things. I have a 2-disc edition that has LOTS of extras and came out a few years ago. I'd look for that one, if I were you.

Why in the heck did that 2-disc SE go out of print anyway? Anyone know? I really want it, but don't want to pay a lot for it. It looks like it was really cheap for a 2-disc SE back when it was in print.

This is the 2 disc special edition that came out in 2002

It's a real good special edition.

That cover art! Are they serious? That has to be one of the most ridiculous designs I've seen on a DVD. The two-disc Special Edition is the definitive release. Wouldn't go near the other two.

But if did I want a single-disc edition, I would locate a copy of the initial release. Probably about the same as this repackaging, only with much better cover art. Seriously-- a claw grabbing a starship? A burst of plasma surging past the ship would have made more sense. No matter. I'm not buying.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm actually a bit excited for that; however, I have a bad feeling it won't be as "fun" as the original.

1) That new cover is unbelievably bad. I would not like to know more.
2) The superbit version does have the best transfer so far, so I would grab that if I was looking for a single-disc version (9.99 at Best Buy still, I guess).
3) Starship Troopers 3? I'm intrigued, and want it to be as "awesome" as master thespian Casper Van Dien says it is. However, I won't be too surprised to hear that it's terrible.

Not to derail this thread any more but I still haven't seen Starship Troopers 2. Is it worth a look? How about those animated Roughnecks DVDs?

I bought the original ST DVD way back when, I never got around to double dipping on the SE. I'll probably just hold out for HD when it arrives.

You might want to check a local Circuit City store in your area. It was quite a while ago but I got my copy there on sale for $4.99 within the past year and I saw copies of that version in stock for a long time after the sale ended.

"2" is only really worth watching to see Kelly Carlson naked, but you could see that on "Nip/Tuck".

So I guess there really isn't a reason unless you *have* to see every single movie Brenda Strong is in.

I never saw the "Roughnecks" DVD's

Also: The new cover is rendered "lame" with the stupid photoshopped bug leg.
