A bit of a compromise really. I do all the sidequests, minigames, etc I can but don't spend enormous amounts of time trying to be a completist.

Depends. If its a really long game I won't even bother with all the side quests. For example, Zelda: TP took me 45 hours just to get through and I've not gotten around to doing a lot of the sidequests.

I have such limited time for gaming anymore, and always have a host of games I'd rather move on to than dick around with sidequests and minigames most of the time.

If I am really enjoying it, i'll tend to prolong it and try to complete everything. As in my FF7 gamesave which had a total play time of around 90 hours before I finished everything.

Depends for me as well. God of War? Weekend adventure, easy. Twilight Princess / RPGs? Prolonged, taking over 40-50+ hours to enjoy everything.

A little of both. I put 300+ hours into FFT on PS1, easy, but very few games drag me in that much. I don't have to do all the sidequests, and I don't really care about 100% completion. Honestly, as much as I like RPGs, after about 30-35 hours I'm ready for it to end. That's part of why I like some of the games on the Wii; they're quick and I don't have to 'beat/complete it' to feel I got my money's worth.

It all depends on how much enjoyment I get out of the "extra stuff". Some games have things just to be able to say it's longer. I don't feel the need to complete anything other than the main game and story, but if the sidequests are just as fun then I'll do it.

When I first got my PSP, my friend got me GTA:LCS, I never bothered to complete all the side missions, I just wanted to get to the end of the game ASAP. I still have about 30 more coins to find.
