That's a great deal. I am going to wait for the players that can output 1080p and come down a little in price. I have several friends with an HD-A2 though and they absolutely love them! Great deal OP.

This is a fantastic deal. I just paid $299 for mine two weeks ago. This gives you extra $$ to spend on HD movies. Great deal.

Really a fantastic deal. If you figure the 5 free DVDs are worth about $20 each, then you get this HD-DVD player for $99. Very tempting to get on board with such an offer - thanks for posting!!

Just ordered this from Crutchfield. Going to take the one I bought a week ago back to Circuit City and save $100.

You barely made it-it's back up to $299. Mark this one down as DEAD.

Looks like the price jumped back up to $299 after rebate. Still sold out.

I wonder if this was a price mistake. I did notice 2 different wordings of the rebate. At the top it listed it as a $100 Instant rebate but near the bottom it was a mail-in rebate. Although clicking on either brought up the terms of only the instant rebate and there was nothing about printing out a form or mailing anything in. :hscratch:

I would wait on that just in case it gets canceled.

According to many posters over at the AVSForum, it was a mistake on Crutchfield's end. However, Crutchfield said that they would honor all orders for everyone that was fortunate enough to get in on time. Kudos to Crutchfield!

I saw that over at AVS. I debated on ordering another but passed.
