Animal Crossing question for Gamecube: How to sell fruit?

I picked up some used Gamecube games yesterday, including Animal Crossing for my girlfriend. She can't figure out how to sell apples to Tom Nook. When a character goes into his store, he just tells them the next thing to do.

Is there some option we're missing?

You have to do all the chores for Tom Nook before you can do anything else with him, whether buying or selling anything.

It sounds like you've only been playing for a few minutes. Do the few things he asks, then once you get a loan that needs paying off, you can sell whatever you want.

You need to finish his "tutorial" first. Basically do everything he says until he's done giving you stuff to do. Then you can sell fruit and other items you find to him.

There's a loan on her house. I'm pretty sure we're past tutorial. I'll check tonight.

What is it that he tells you to do then? If you are done with the intro part, you should be able to just talk to Tom to sell your fruit.

IIRC, you get the loan to start with. Then you do your chores for Mr. Nook, he takes about 1,300 Bells off your loan ( can't remember for sure the exact #) and you go to your modest little hovel to start building things up.

When I got home she had made it past the tutorial and was selling fruit. Thanks, guys.

Mostly this game makes me hope she can unlock all the Nintendo games in it, it would save me some money or Virtual Console downloads.

I went and bought an Action Replay just to unlock all the NES games. Some you simply cannot do through the normal means.

Check gamefaqs, you can get many of the games using the codes built into the game.
