Logitech Harmony 659 Remote $49.99 + ship

[mentioned on Fat Wallet and Slick Deals]

This deal has been going since yesterday (Tuesday). $49.99 + around $5.00 ship from Tiger Direct through Amazon. I read Tiger Direct can be sucky with rebates, but okay for normal orders

http://www.amazon.com/Harmony-Univer...0461277&sr=1-2

I know this isn't the high end Harmony, but seems like a pretty good deal.

I've been using the 659 for years and love it.

I have only had one problem and that is one of the side buttons basically doesn't work anymore.. it will work, but only if you press the button hard enough and just the right angle.

Then again, the remote did basically go for a little swim / had liquid spilled on and in it, and except for the one button has been perfect.

Just bought a 2nd one for the $50, thanks for the heads up!

Buy a battery charger. It eats batteries like there is no tomorrow.

Other than that, it is an amazing remote. Don't know how I lived without it.

Some of the conversation I read about the remote say that if you don't use the glow light the batteries will last a long time. Guess I'll find out.

I have the 659 as well and couldn't live without it. $50 is an incredible deal.

I agree with investing in rechargeable batteries.

That is absolutely true!

I would get maybe a week with the glow on (default setting), I turned it off in the software and I'm not sure how long they last because it is so long, but I would guess 3 weeks or a month +.

Here is the most cool thing of these remotes.

I have been using the 659 already and have everything set to just about the way I want it.

Now when my new 659 comes in, all I have to do is connect to the software/website, connect the remote and it should program the remote to be exactly the way I have my current 659.

With previous remotes where you have to type in codes, it would take hours and still would not offer the functionality of the Harmony/Logitech series.

TigerDirect has this remote for $84.99 with a free DVD player. If I didn't have like 5 dvd players, I'd get it.

At that price, I'd rather spend the extra $25 to get an 880.

Edit J&R has a Refurb 880 for $99 (and you can order it from J&R through Amazon).

Reviews make it sound like the refurbs can be hit or miss with quality control though.
