The Next Best Thing: Who is the Greatest Celebrity Impersonator? 05/30/07

This one looks so bad it might be fun! The series premiere is tonight, 05/30/07, on ABC at 8:00pm Eastern. Who here plans to watch and who here plans to stay away?! http://abc.go.com/primetime/nextbestthing/index

Looks like fun to me too! Was wondering what they won, and it looks like a cash prize of $100,000.00. Not a bad deal.

This looks like one of those things that will only be fun during the audition stages. I can't see how they can sustain any momentum in later rounds. Once you've seen the impersonation, it's not a big deal anymore.

That's what I'm thinking right now.. The good are cool to see. The bad are funny (relatively speaking), but you are right. What can they possibly do in the later rounds?

Looks like the blond is supposed to be Jennifer Aniston

I watched this. It was pretty awful. Even the people they thought were good pretty horrible.

I enjoyed a couple people, the Honeymooners the most, but overall it was horrible.

Darn, the show was not as bad as I hoped it would be! Most of the impersonators were just plain bad...not so bad they were funny. Except for maybe the Adam Sandler guy, for whatever reason, I got a good laugh out of his rejected skit. Hey there, Keith6601, I liked the Honeymooners too.

Say, which celebrity would you have impersonated for the show?

That guy really looked like Ben Stiller to me...maybe he is saving that impersonation for later?

He's been a regular on Howard Stern for years... usually doing his Gene Simmons impression

That show was headache inducing. I've said it for years, if you're going to stand in front of a mic and talk you've got to have an act. And, a further tip, construct your act so that it does not make people cringe.

yeah - this guy is a pro. I think they are going to bring in some ringers or else just having joe-6packs up there with no act is not entertaining.

Who's the old guy supposed to be? Harry Reasoner? Morley Safer?
And the black guy is....Ray Charles? Because he put sunglasses on?

Never would have guessed the blonde was supposed to be Jennifer Aniston.
The Angelina chick sort of looks like she has a little Joan Cusack thrown in, which is never a good thing.

So that leaves an Austin Powers impersonator. How relevant!

What a crappy ad.

I was not aware of that.

So, it's kind of like Bil Dwyer on Last Comic Standing, huh?

No love for this show?

It was a pretty good episode last night.

I believe the Howard Stern impersonator has this whole thing won. I really thought it was Howard Stern pulling a prank. I don't watch or like Howard Stern, but this guy seemed like the real thing.

The Rosanne impersonator also seemed to be spot on.
