How much money have you spent on Star Wars?

After 30 years, I thought it'd be interesting to see how much members here have sunk into the franchise.*

So add up everything you've spent (not including what parents and others have spent for you, but include what you may have bought for others) in regards to Star Wars - this would include all theatrical attendance, novels, comics, toys, soundtracks, videos, laser-discs, dvds, videogames, clothes, costumes - everything!

Now I know the poll choices are sorta random, but I didn't know how else to break it down.
If it'll help, you can break down your tally in this thread.

So as for me, even though I saw the original trilogy starting in '77, I didn't pay for my own attendance until the special edition re-releases in '97, which I saw multiple times and took dates to... that's about $140 right there just for the theatrical special editions...

Here's an approximate tally of everything I can recall (including gifts I've given):

At the theater:... $200
Toys/Figues:.......$200
Books/Comics:......$50
Videogames:.......$450 (yikes!)
videos/dvds:.......$300

Total:
$1,200...
and I wouldn't even be considered that big of a SW fan...

Oh, and do you regret any of it?

*mods,
Spoiler:
I wanna keep this in Other, because it has to do with personal habits more than movies or anything else - thanks!

I would guess slightly over $100. Other than the movies and a few of the comics, I think the only SW items would be the soundtrack CDs.

Buying the first 3 on VHS ( ~$40) and then eventually getting all 6 on DVD (~$100) and seeing each once at the theaters (~$40) I would say I have spent about $180.

About $1000

$3-4 dollars each for the movies, $900ish for cleaning up my carpet after I took a dump on the films and shit hit the floor.

Hmmm, I don't know exactly, but I was a massive fan in the 90's when the books and comics were in their prime. I've got the OT on VHS, all 6 on DVD, about 20 books, many of which I bought in hardback when they were first released, some soundtracks, and most of the comics that came out up through the conclusion of the Old Republic storyline (Tales of the Jedi through Redemption). Without officially trying tally all that up, I'd guess it was over $500.

Around $150. Mostly movie theaters, video tapes and DVDs. Don't really expect to spend much more, but may be interested in checking out some books or comics.

hmmmm
when i was a kid.. my parents bought me the toys
all my star wars vhs and dvd have been given as presents
only saw one of the first 3 in the theatre
so i guess just the movie prices for taking my family to see the latest 3.. and mother in law paid for 2 of those

so my spending on star wars has been minimal

DOH! Didn't read the spoiler until after I moved it, but overall I think you'll probably get more answers in the movie forum since not everyone visits Other...

I went crazy around 95 when the toys came out. I would say over 1000 for sure.

Does my parents money count too?

I would love to know how much they spent on action figures, records, ships and other Star Wars merchandise from 1978 to 1986. Once I hit junior high in '86 I was on my own but by then Star Wars was old news and I was too old for action figures and had moved on to collecting other things (like girls).

I am extremely glad I didn't get into collecting any of that stuff when the second boom hit when The Phantom Menace came out. I can't imagine what some completists out there spent.

My mom gave me all of my Star Wars shit a few years ago cause it was taking up too much space in her attic. I have every action figure ever made (except the tall Snaggletooth & the limited Yak-Face) from the OT as well as all my old ships, the Death Star, the Droid Factory, etc. and yikes...the Ewok Village! Since I played with all that stuff I doubt it is worth much of anything now. Decent condition but far from the hermetically sealed toys that the collectors want today.

Probably $15-20 to see the reissued films when they came to the theaters (in 97 or so?)

All in all i'd have to say it's over a grand, but there is absolutely no way for me to figure it out exactly, so I just voted $1000-$1250.

Man I really don't know.

Lets see what of Star Wars I have.
Some figures - $150
Some Ships - $100
Hallmark Ornaments - $150
Movies - $60
VHS - $50
DVD's - $100
Video games - $200

Wow....I guess around $800!

I guess it really all adds up. I don't even consider myself a real real die hard fan. And I don't really regret any of it. But it does make me think about what I could have with that money instead.

Between growing up with it, the toys, comics, art, cards and god knows what else around $1500. Then when the prequals came out we had to go to the Charity Premiers (tax write off and it was for Childrens Hospital so we couldnt pass it up) well that blew it well past the $2000 mark. Damn you Lucas, when will I get my perfect version of the original triliogy? My laserdisc versions are worn lol. All that and I must admit; I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, I'm more of a Whovian. Oh well, Cest La Vie.

About $15.

I saw the original movie twice in 1977, ROTJ once, and Revenge of the Sith once (at the dollar theater). Rented the original trilogy once in the early 90s. I accidentally bought Splinter of the Mind's Eye from the SF Book Club.

Maybe around $50. That's very approximate.

Rented the films and maybe some of the games throughout the years.
