30 Rock-1st season--->Sept.4th!!!
Yes!Yes!Yes! the best new show of last season comes to DVD sept.4th.
3 disc set, widescreen, & a DD 5.1 track! what more do you want?
Can not wait for this! should be a good month for NBC comedies on DVD again cause My name is Earl will most likely be release in sept. maybe even the same day! and althrough i don't watch The Office it usually gets released in sept. as well & my favorite show of all time Scrubs will most likely get season 6 released sometime in sept.

30Rock get.
This is a show that will hold up repeat viewings - funny, funny stuff.
And the season 2 premier probably won't be until around October or late September, so I don't think this release is too late.

Box art looks like all the promos I've seen. At least it's consistent.
Maybe... maybe Universal will put these on HD DVD. This is one of the few shows that I would probably re-buy.

I will definitely be picking up an HD release of this (hopefully comes out at the same time??).
For some reason, I didn't get too into the first few episodes, so I let me DVR build up 4-5 before I finally got around to watching the show again. I ended up watched them all in a row, I was really hooked after that. Excellent show. Excellent Cast.

I wonder why TV shows on HD are not day/date with their SD counterparts....I know only a handful have been released, but I've opted for the HD version each time.
I'm sure $$$ and market adoption for HD are the drivers, but it would be great to see this show and all other HD broadcast shows released on HD and SD at the same time.
With that said, 30 Rock may have not found a large fanbase to date, but I'll take it on HD in a heartbeat (along with Dexter).

I'll def pick up the the SD set no matter what. If there is an HD set, i won't buy it until theres a clear winner between HD DVD & Blu Ray. I'm not the type to pick one and hope that it wins.

The first season was great. It started off really slow the first few episodes but the last third quarter of the season was gold highlighted by the Pee Wee Herman/Isabella Rossellini episode.
This set is a must buy for me.

I was at Wal-Mart this morning that they had the full season set, but then they also had split 30 Rock Season 1 "Volume 1" and "Volume 2" versions. Volume 1 had the first 16 episodes (2 disks). I didn't look at what was included in the Volume 2, but if its just disk 3 (7 episodes) and it was the same price as Volume 1 ($19.96), what's the point?
