JUNE 11th: Will Crackdown flood Ebay?

I was seriously considering throwing my Crackdown game on Ebay on June 7th for a 3 day auction. Do you think a ton of people will be dumping their copies since the Halo 3 demo will expire? I don't mind Crackdown, but with summer hitting, and the "crack-cocaine-in-a-green-case" called Guitar Hero 2, I don't think I'll be getting back into playing it. Are you guys selling off your copies as well?

Possibly, but I thought I heard that Crackdown actually wasn't a bad game, it's a sort of sandbox type game. At least the 1up guys had fairly good things to say about it.

I'll definitely be sending it back to Gamefly on that day. I thought Crackdown was a horrible, horrible game.

One of my favorite games. I prefer Crackdown to Halo 3 online play. But I've never been a big Halo online player.

I might buy it if I can find it for cheap. I borrowed it from a friend and really liked it, but didn't get a chance to really finish it.

The Halo 3 beta is nice (and I'm in through F&F) but I can only play the same three maps for so long.

it's a very overrated game. I have yet to meet someone in person that actually liked it. It's the butt of all jokes at the local game store. I'm expecting it to flood ebay, half.com and be blacklisted for trades at EB that week.

I agree on all points mmconhea.

I was bored to tears by the Demo and it really turned me off to buying the game. Even with the Halo 3 thing going on. I just couldn't get into it.

Crackdown is an awesome game. Probably the best game on the system so far, IMO. Anyone who's making jokes about it hasn't played it or is 13.

I'm hoping it floods Ebay. Then I can get it cheap. I loved the demo.

Well I thought the same thing is DamingR.. I don't care if people liked it or not.. Different strokes for different folks..

However.. The whole butt of jokes had me picturing a bunch of 12 year old nerds in the corner of a gamestop:

Ned "A guy walks into a bar... The bartender says.. Hey.. Is that Crackdown in your pants or are you just happy to see me?"

Jimmy "Awesome one ned!! Crackdown sucks!!"

I thought there was some sort of a code in the box. You mean I can play Halo 3 with my rental copy? I had no idea!

Oh, and I really enjoy the game itself. It's good, mindless fun.

The demo for Dead Rising sucked but the game rocked.

I bought this game have not even bothered with the Halo 3 demo. Crackdown is excellent and is one of the best games i have played in a long time. Along with the downloads that are available it makes the game a must own title.

Here is a Question. How will we be able to delete the Halo 3 beta after it finishes? Is there code which will automatically delete it after the test ends? Something i am curious about. hate to clog up 1 gig for a hidden demo only accessable within Crackdown.

I had a free rental at Blockbuster, so I rented this just to try out the Halo3 demo. I haven't even played the retail Crackdown yet. I have to return it today though, so I'll give it a shot before bringing it back. If I like it, then I'm with you. I hope a bunch of people try to unload it. Plus, I'm a sucker for any games that have co-op, especially over Live.

By gameshop joke, I mean:
It’s been synonymous with an overrated game, selling way more than it should have. With a userbase that buys before thinking.
I myself have laughed at the people trying to convince themselves that this game is anything more than hype from MS combined with Hype for Halo 3.

I played the demo extensively, trying to figure out if there was anything more then what it appeared to be... Nope.

I’m 99% sure the reviewers for the big sites that rated this game were paid, pampered or pleasured. The reviews are highly critical, and point out issues that would otherwise destroy a game review for other titles, yet then 9s and 10s are dished out right next to the banners and full page spreads of ads for crackdown. MS paid big for the critical acclaim. Look at the smaller, independent reviews and you have a better idea that this is just a poorly executed GTA knock-off with only shooting people and driving to shoot people as your activities. They actually took the genre backwards.

It’s garbage and people are waking up to realize it, and the Halo3 beta is the reason it sold what it did (even so it hasn’t broken a million yet -ha!)
It will flood ebay and used game stores, watch and see.

I hated the demo when it came out and went so far as to say that it must be an awful game if they had to bundle it with a Halo 3 invite to move copies.

But when I got the game and actually played it and increased my stats slowly, the game became a blast.

It is a good game to play co-op with a friend as you chat and explore the city.

The new DLC made the game that much better.

Dude.. I love how you speak for everyone and know why everyone rated it as good etc..

I bought the game because I wanted to. I liked the demo and wanted something new.. The Halo beta had ZERO ZERO to do with me purchasing it. I actually don't even like Halo. Tried to get into both 1 and 2 and thought they both sucked.

This game is EASILY in my top 5 games so far for the 360..

I guess I just haven't woken up yet to realize that it's garbage.

Oh.. And like a give two shiites if the game sells a million copies or not.. That doesn't really have any influence on me liking the game. But I guess it's another one of those "gameshop jokes". -ha!
