Yahoo is reporting that Sanjaya was a hoax
Aparently he was an art student with an elaborate hoax. Truth? Old news? Where's the thread?

I'm not sure how you can say he was a "hoax". He showed he could sing in the auditions and in the other stages. Maybe his schtick after was a joke, but he did have enough talent to get him there.

Right. I don't think he's smart enough. Besides, his true identity would get out. Past Idol contestants' rap sheet and identities have always surfaced on the web.

OK, is the blond boy in the video with him the one that was also reported by TMZ to be the person Sanjaya was seen shopping West Hollywood with? If so, I can't for the life of me figure out who's the top!

Hours before shrieking through the Kinks' "You Really Got Me" with Aerosmith's Joe Perry, Sanjaya did some last minute shopping for ... baby clothes?!
TMZ has learned Sanjy, with a blonde male friend along for the ride, hit up the trendy Bel Bambini baby boutique in West Hollywood on Wednesday and spent around $200 on six "Adorable Idol" baby tees. We're told Sanjaya didn't try anything on. He may be skinny, but he's not that skinny!
Sources say Sanjaya wore a black skull and crossbones t-shirt with his hair wrapped up in a red bandana. How butch!
Afterwards, Sanjaya and his bud headed to a Coffee Bean up the street. The rest, as they say, is hairstory!
With all that said, are we all really buying that this video is real or even Sanjaya? The sunglasses are there for a reason, probably....
