Amazing price for those The Wire season sets. I must tell my friends to get to Costco and pick these up. I'm making my way through Season 3 now and I'm completely bowled over by the fact that I'd not watched the show before now and the overall quality of the show.

One of the best dramas ever!

Is the $21.99 price for only the earlier seasons of The Wire, or are seasons 1-3 all $21.99 each? If that's also the price for season 3, that's almost a steal.

Is this a manufacturer's coupon type situation, where there is an expiration date or is it a standard sale?

Neither. I was just in a Costco tonight and From The Earth To The Moon was stickered $21.99. No sales, no coupons, no anything. That's apparently their price for it now.

if all 3 seasons of the wire are 21.99 you really are stealing them. i got mine for 42 and was VERY happy with that. if you haven't seen it and enjoy crime dramas, you can not beat the wire.

Actually, they only have Season 1 for 21.99, and Season 3 for 42.99. Season 2 has not shown up at Costco yet, which I find odd since they have carried every season of a show when they carry it.

Didn't see the Wire, but my Costco did have Oz. Pretty damn cheap.

I too recently purchased 2 and 3 for $42. This is probably my favorite cop drama of all time. I can't wait for season 4 to come out on DVD.

I have never seen OZ or From the Earth to the Moon. I plan to do a blind buy on FTETTM, but what did you guys think of OZ? Not sure I want to go buying 6 more seasons of something, I still have to watch my 4 seasons of The Shield

It's the same creative people behind Oz and The Wire as I recall. So if you love The Wire, it's certainly worth checking out Oz. And I'd also recommend Homicide: Life on the Street since it also has many of the same people behind it.

Wow! That is a steal. I just grabbed S6 from DDD's last sale for a little more than that.

Great show.

Thanks man.

And to people wondering about Oz, it's one of the best shows I've ever seen. I've seen the series twice (except S5, once), seen S1 around 3 times. It's that good, you keep coming back to it. Great writing, great characters. It does falter during the last 2.5 seasons, but there are still great story arcs, and even at its worst, it's better than most of the stuff out there.

Is this a CostCo exclusive? I wanted to compare prices a bit, but can't seem to find it other places.

my Costco also had only the first season of The Wire. Didn't even see Seasons 2 or 3 around. I've already seen season 1 and it's really great. Guess I'll have to wait a bit longer for even better prices on 2-3.

Thanks guys, I picked up From the Earth to the Moon! I also saw Alien Quadrilogy for $31.99, but I could have swore that I saw it somewhere else for less.

Costco had an instant $10 rebate off of Quad just a last week. Alas, it ended a couple of days ago. I'm sure that they'll once again have it for $21.99 in the near future.

I noticed yesterday that From the Earth to the Moon is now $24.97 at Wal-Mart, if someone is interested in the set but doesn't have a Costco membership (or, in my case, a Costco in the area).

Awesome. I need Seasons 4 and 6 of OZ, and would pick them up at that price. I think that I would buy all of them if I saw them.

Thanks, I'm headed to Costco tonight.
