Would you buy a Foolscreen 1.85:1 movie if it was under $3?

I picked up March Of The Penguins FF for $2.50 yesterday with a slew of other WS titles at the same price. Would anyone here crack for the bargain price?

Nope, I would never buy a fullscreen version if there is a widescreen disc as well. If I love the movie and it's only available in fullscreen and it's an open-matte 1.85:1 movie, I would consider buying it since the zoom mode on my TV's will approximate it back to widescreen.

It's not a matter of price... if I like a title enough to own, I like it enough to buy in OAR.
Presumably I'm going to *watch* this title that I just bought for $2.50. I'd rather spend the extra $5-10 and watch it properly.

No, I prefer to watch all movies in their OAR, regardless of the price. It can be free and not in its OAR and I'd take a pass.
I actually have The Weather Man in fullscreen (shipped in error) and I want to watch the movie (I love dark humor), but can't bring myself to watch it in its modified AR.
I've been trying to give it away, but no one will take it as Cage was in Snake Eyes and Con Air, which sent many of his Leaving Las Vegas and Moonstruck fans in the other direction.

I prefer widescreen but am not so anal about it that I would pass on the savings.

Nope. Not interested. I was even annoyed that Little Miss Sunshine was a dualsided fullscreen/widescreen disc, and that was just a rental.

I've done it once. I really wanted to see Mean Girls and the only way to get it was through the supermarket. (We were there at like midnight on a Wednesday).

An American Tail's true aspect ratio is 1.33:1. On Don Bluth's website, he stated that every animated film he's worked on is intended to be seen 1.33:1 (yes, even the Disney ones). The only two exceptions are Anastasia & Titan A.E.
Everything else has been matted for theatrical release. But he prefers the 1.33:1 ratio.

Who cares how cheap it is....what's the point of filling your house/apartment with more useless junk?
If it's the OAR then obviously this doesn't apply.

BTW I accidentally ordered 'take the money and run' in fullscreen and I haven't even opened it after over a year. I think I will throw it in the garbage.

Absolutely not. I only own two movies (as far as I know) that are fullscreen when they shouldn't be. One I got screwed by the flipper disc that dropped the widescreen side. The other was a freebie that I watched exactly once, and I've been trying to dump it and upgrade since, but no one wants it.

I have had this argument with so many cheap friends, I could really never do it now. If I ever in a extreme moment of weakness broke down and bought a FS, one of said friend would surely see it, and I would never hear the end of it.

I'll take it! I'll take any other free movies people want to send me too...OAR or not. I'm being honest.
