I don't consider it to be quite as good as the Proposition, and definitely not as graphic (although there is some moderate bloodshed). It is a very deliberately-paced film, as well, and won't satisfy you if you're expecting a "run & gun" Western. My (brief) thoughts from elsewhere:

DVD Talk Ultimate Edition
The audio commentary with starts off really slow but it gets better an hour into the movie. Pierce Brosnan keeps it lively when he brings up a hilarious deleted scene that isn't on the DVD.

Thumbs up from me. I thought it was a gorgeous, occasionally powerful Western with a couple of great action scenes and a wonderfully bizarre final stretch. Liked the ending, as well.
