Simpsons Parody Infuriates FOX

From IMDB...
http://www.imdb.com/news/wenn/2007-05-15/#3
An internet parody of The Simpsons featuring O.J. Simpson has infuriated bosses at 20th Century Fox. The studio has asked online video site Broadcaster.com to take down three animated clips, titled The OJ Simpsons, that re-imagine the series with the ex-American football player. The three clips are titled "Black and White Christmas," "Warzone" and "If I Did It" - which features Fox's decision to withdraw publication of Simpson's proposed book about the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman. The clips also parody the opening scene of The Simpsons, with Simpson being chased by several police cars - just like he was chased live on TV in the US, after the pair were found dead in Los Angeles in June 1994. Simpson was later found not guilty of the murders. The website offered to review the clips, but claim parodies are protected by fair-use doctrine. Chief-executive Martin Wade said: "We respect the rights of content owners. Our goal is to be a respecter of content rights and at the same time find legal ways to bring our community members the content they enjoy."
Simpsons built their reputation at taking shots at so many other things in our society, even themselves in a few situations! I find this laughable and completely ridiculous. This is evidence the Simpsons has lasted too long on TV.

These are seriously, deadly unfunny. This may have been moderately amusing, say, 10 frickin years ago. I think this particular double-murder has been mined for about all the comedy it's going to provide.

I have a CRACKED magazine issue from about 15 years ago that did the EXACT same thing. That was at the time of the murders. It has OJ on the front cover with his head shaped like Bart's hair. The comic strip on the inside is called "The Simpson", and he plays Bart but gets into all kinds of murderous trouble and always has blood trailing behind him where ever he goes.

I think they're more furious about wasting their time watching these videos then they are about the parody. These aren't even remotely funny or put together well.

"It's not easy being a single parent."

"Well that was your choice, dude."

Ned as Fred (Goldman) and the opening montage are pretty clever, too.

Which is strange, because you would think that a double homicide would provide nearly limitless comedy potential.
